Genshin Impact is one of the most popular recent titles across the gaming industry, and part of that success is likely owed to the game's extensive roster of memorable characters. As a general rule, all characters in Genshin Impact have one of the game's seven elements: Pyro, Cryo, Electro, Dendro, Geo, Anemo, and Hydro. However, one player recently encountered a visual glitch that assigned all seven elements to a single character.
Ningguang is a playable Geo character in Genshin Impact who serves as the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, a committee of merchants and business owners who govern the region of Liyue. She's gathered her fair share of fans with her otherworldly beauty, surprisingly warm heart, and important role in the game's main storyline.
Reddit user bittersoup07- shared a short video of their Ningguang in the character select screen. As usual, her character model is shown striking an elegant pose while examining the weapon she's been equipped with. However, in this image, Ningguang is surrounded by a storm of element-themed background animations. Geo characters are usually shown with small orange rocks floating around them and the sound of crunching earth, but bittersoup07-'s Ningguang appears to be accompanied by signs of all seven elements.
Although the details can be difficult to make out, especially since the Dendro element has yet to be properly implemented for any character, Ningguang seems to have extended her elemental mastery to all seven elements. Water droplets, snowflakes, dancing sparks, bursts of static electricity, drifting flower petals, and more can be seen swirling around her. The effect can be a bit cluttered, making it hard to tell exactly what's going on in the background, but it does add an aura of majesty to this queenly character.
As of writing, it appears that other Genshin Impact fans appreciate the effect this glitch has had on Ningguang. Several users immediately declared that Ningguang should be the new protagonist, as the Traveler has previously been established as the main individual able to use multiple elements. One user went so far as to compare Ningguang to the Avatar from Avatar: The Last Airbender, while a second user declared that she was now a secret six-star character. Another group discussed the way this glitch resembled a Christmas patch, while another group expressed their hopes that this background would be re-used when the Traveler finally mastered all seven elements. One user also declared that this was proof that Ningguang, a notoriously wealthy character, was a whale.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
