Version 4.0 is heavily expected to arrive during the summer, bringing with it the game's newest region of Fontaine and a plethora of new mechanics and characters. Now, leaks are teasing the final update before the new region's launch.Genshin Impact's Version 3.8 update has already seen numerous leaks detailing the content and characters expected to arrive with the patch. Previous details have revealed the update will feature a limited-time event region referred to as Penumbra, acting as a lead-in to Fontaine's release. Version 3.8 is also expected to feature no new characters for the first time in Genshin Impact's history, albeit the gacha banners will boast the long-awaited return of Eula after more than 500 days. Now, a new leak has shared the full suite of content within the update.A summary update shared by trusted Genshin Impact leaker Genshin Intel details the full lineup of events for Version 3.8. As expected, the update will feature a temporary region with an event themed around the Oceanid enemies, referring to the region as the "Veluriyam Mirage." Players completing the event will be rewarded with a free copy of Cryo four-star character Layla. The update will also feature several smaller events including the return of the Adventurer's Trials event, an unnamed creature-finding event, and a combat event dubbed "Perilous Prospect."
Alongside the limited content, Genshin Impact's 3.8 update will also introduce several new permanent elements to the game. HoYoverse will reportedly be adding the game's newest "Hangout" event, allowing players to learn more about one of the game's starter characters in Kaeya. Genius Invokation TCG will be receiving three new Character Cards during the update and Genshin Impact will also introduce the game's two newest skins for Klee and Kaeya. Genshin Intel finishes by teasing the appearance of a mystery character, simply referred to as "Necalevia."
With just a few months left until the expected release of Genshin Impact's newest major region, HoYoverse is clearly getting fans excited for Fontaine's debut. The recently released Version 3.7 features the first unique in-game character from Fontaine with journalist Charlotte playing a major role in the update's event. The Special Program for Genshin Impact's 3.7 update also featured a brief teaser near the end of the presentation, showcasing some of Fontaine's underwater life. Version 3.8 will look to build even more anticipation for the next region with its launch in July.
