Genshin Impact has already confirmed the arrival of a brand new major region named Sumeru in the upcoming update 3.0. Each map extension is usually followed by multiple additions to the game's playable roster.

Genshin Impact has introduced three new characters for update 3.0, one five-star character named Tighnari, and two four-star characters, Collei and Dori. Even though 3.0 has not even arrived yet, multiple leaks have already revealed another set of characters in the second Sumeru update.

One of the most popular Genshin Impact leakers named hxl_diluc has revealed the three new characters that should arrive in update 3.1. According to the leaker, 3.1 will introduce Cyno, Nilou, and Candace. Cyno and Nilou will be five-star characters and Candace will apparently have a lower four-star rarity. Cyno has been rumored to join the playable roster for a very long time as he already made an appearance in Genshin Impact's official manga in which he helped Collei seal her Archon residue. The manga describes Cyno as a mysterious scholar from Sumeru Academiya who has the ability to control the Electro element.

According to previous Genshin Impact leaks, Cyno's elemental skill will allow him to dash forward dealing damage with a low cooldown. His Elemental Burst causes the weapon to get infused by Electro, changing the action of his Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks. Multiple replies in the comment section have pointed out that Cyno's kit is very similar to the five-star Anemo character Xiao's. According to hxg_diluc, Cyno's damage will scale with Elemental Mastery which is very common for Sumeru characters.

Nilou is the second five-star character that should arrive in the same update. Recent gameplay leaks have confirmed that she is a Hydro user. Her elemental skill allows her to perform four sword slashes that deal Hydro damage in the process. However, her elemental skill seems to have a very long cooldown which means that she most likely won't be suited for Genshin Impact's main DPS role. Nilou's elemental burst causes a huge AoE explosion around her dealing Hydro damage.

There is not a lot of information about Candace at the moment, but she is expected to be a new four-star polearm character. According to Genshin Impact's usual update schedule, Version 3.1 should arrive around mid-October. However, a couple of leaks have been hinting that developer HoYoverse could make a couple of changes to their update schedule in order to compensate for the Genshin Impact Version 2.7 delay.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
