Double banner is a new mechanic in Genshin Impact which allows players to pull for two different limted characters within the same banner cycle.
Recent Genshin Impact leaks have revealed the two characters that will be featured in the first double banner. Those characters include the Cryo claymore user Eula and the Geo alchemist Albedo. The game's official social media accounts have already confirmed two Geo characters that will arrive in the upcoming update.
Genshin Impact 2.3 will be the first update to introduce a double banner re-run, which means that players will have the chance to opt for two banners at the same time. This is miHoYo's way of compensating for the absence of a brand new five-star character in a certain banner cycle. The double banner will arrive in the first cycle and it will feature Eula and Albedo. Since his release in update 1.2, Albedo has been one of the strongest support characters in Genshin Impact. In addition to that, his kit is one of the easiest to execute right now which makes him even more reliable in his role.
Eula has always been one of the strongest DPS characters in the game alongside Ganyu and Xiao. Her unique playstyle requires players to get used to her animation cancel mechanics in order to use her full damage potential. She is definitely one of the fan-favorite characters in Genshin Impact at the moment, as she's a must-have DPS character for any Genshin Impact player. There was not much hype for her initial release since there weren't many leaks prior to her arrival. However, her ability to dish out tons of damage will certainly increase her pull ratings once she gets her re-run.
The second part of the banner will include two new characters, the Geo Vision holders Itto and Gorou. Albedo, Gorou, and Itto could make a strong party with Itto as the main DPS and the other two would fill the support roles. Having a party of characters that use the same Vision is usually considered bad but it works with Geo thanks to the unique Elemental reaction Crystalize which works independently from all other elements. Adding another strong Geo character like Zhongli could make this team one of the strongest team compositions in the game since they are able to burst through any type of elemental shields.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
