Genshin Impact's newest trailer for the 2.1 update showcased upcoming content and new limited character banners. The first banner looks to feature the Electro Archon of Inazuma, Baal. However, Baal won't be the only new character on the banner, as her aide Kujou Sara will also be appearing as the newest 4-star character.

Genshin Impact players who have played through the main story of Inazuma will have come across Kujou Sara before. Acting as an aide and bodyguard to Baal, she is described as a "tengu warrior" that supports the Inazuma Vision Hunt Decree. Wielding a bow and Electro vision, Kujou Sara is ruthless and efficient in her duties.

Kujou Sara's Attack Patterns, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst

Kujou Sara's standard attacks are similar to other Genshin Impact bow users with a pattern of five consecutive shots. With her aimed shot, players will be able to deal Electro damage when launching a fully charged arrow. Kujou Sara's elemental skill is called "Tengu Stormcall," and it makes her retreat rapidly while gaining a Crowfeather Cover buff for 18 seconds. When Kujou Sara fires a fully charged shot, the buff is consumed and leaves behind a Crowfeather at the location. Crowfeathers trigger "Tengu Juurai: Ambush," which deals Electro damage and grants the active character in its AOE an attack bonus that scales with Kujou Sara's attack stat.

Kujou Sara's elemental burst is called "Subjugation: Koukou Sendou," which casts down "Tengu Jurrai: Titanbreaker" and deals AOE Electro damage. Afterward, the Titanbreaker will spread out into four consecutive bouts of "Tengu Jurrai: Stormclusters" that also deal AOE Electro damage. Both the Titanbreaker and Stormclusters will provide the active Genshin Impact character in the AOE with the same attack bonus given by Kujou Sara's elemental skill. The attack bonus provided by the various types of Tengu Jurrai do not stack.

Kujou Sara's Playstyle and Team Compositions

Kujou Sara's kit seems to indicate that she's more inclined toward support and sub-DPS roles in Genshin Impact. Her best artifact set as support will likely be the four-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set. However, depending on the team composition, the four-piece Noblesse Oblige set can also work as long as other party members aren't using the four-piece buff. Players who want to improve her elemental burst uptime should invest in Energy Recharge, while players who are looking for more damage across the board should invest in her attack stat. She scales well with both stats and her build will depend heavily on what a Genshin Impact player needs in their team.

Kujou Sara functions similarly to Bennett and will likely be one of the stronger supports for Electro characters like Beidou in Genshin Impact. However, she does have a few drawbacks that are similar to other high energy-cost supports. In particular, her elemental burst is quite expensive but she doesn't seem to have strong particle generation. This will likely limit the variety of team compositions that she fits in, and she might even need to rely on a battery if players can't get enough Energy Recharge. Nonetheless, her kit remains strong for Electro teams and she seems to pair up extremely well with Baal. As always, players who aren't sure about Kujou Sara's playstyle will be able to try her out in the trial run when she's released.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
