In Genshin Impact, Varunada Lazurite is the elemental gemstone used to ascend Hydro characters. Regardless of their weapon, home region, or rarity, all Hydro characters need this special gem. Luckily, there are a few ways to find it, though some are more reliable than others.

This nice blue gem can be found mainly by defeating bosses, though there are some non-combat methods for finding it, as well. The lowest level of Varunada Lazurite is Varunada Lazurite Slivers, then in ascending quality, Fragments, Chunks, and, finally, Gemstones. Here's who will need Varunada Lazurite, as well as where to farm it.

Hydro Characters Genshin Impact 1

There aren't as many Hydro characters as some other elements. Like any other character in the game, they'll ascend at the same character levels and need the same quality of Varunada Lazurite.

Bosses That Drop Varunada Lazurite in Genshin Impact

There are a handful of bosses that are capable of dropping Varunada Lazurite. After defeating these bosses, players can pay the 40 Original Resin cost to obtain their rewards, which can include varying levels of Varunada Lazurite, depending on the boss's level.

The following bosses can reward Lazurite:

The higher the level of the boss, the better their gem drops can be, as shown here:

*It's important to note that the Primo Geovishap only drops elemental stones that match its infused element (except Prithiva Topaz, which it can always drop).

This means that the Primo Geovishap needs to be infused with Hydro when defeated in order for Varunada Lazurite to be among the possible rewards.

Trounce Domains That Varunada Lazurite in Genshin Impact

Similar to how there are three standard bosses that can reward Varunada Lazurite, there are three weekly trounce bosses that can drop it:

Of course, Original Resin is needed to obtain their rewards, too. Also, the higher the level of the trounce domain, the better the gem drops can be:

*Similar to the Primo Geovishap, Azhdaha must infuse the corresponding element to reward that element's gem (other than Prithiva Topaz, which is always possible). He'll need to be infusing Hydro as one of his two elements per fight to drop Varunada Lazurite.

Azhdaha's infused elements rotate weekly, and each week, they can be seen on the door to his domain before entering.

Other Ways to Get Varunada Lazurite in Genshin Impact

Elemental Gemstone Sources Genshin Impact - Varunada Lazurite

There are a handful of methods for finding Varunada Lazurite that aren't quite as farmable or profitable in terms of the quantity of rewarded gems.

Daily Commissions

Every day, players can receive four commissions from the Adventurers' Guild. Once all four have been completed, they can head over to Katheryne at the Adventurers' Guild (any branch) and obtain a bonus set of rewards, amongst which can be Slivers of elemental gems.

Which element's gems are rewarded is random, but it can be Varunada Lazurite.

Crafting

Every element's respective gem can be crafted up into higher qualities from the lower qualities. This allows players to essentially upgrade the quality of their gems, though it takes three of one quality to obtain a single gem of a higher quality, as seen here:

This will require a crafting bench, which can be found in various places, including the major city of each region.

Conversion

Crafting benches can also be used for conversion — transforming one item into another. Elemental gems are able to be converted into another element's gems with some Dust of Azoth, which can be purchased from Paimon's Bargains. It costs 5 Stardust for 10 jars of this dust.

Converting higher quality gems requires more Dust of Azoth:

Varunada Lazurite can be created from Vayuda Turquoise, Agnidus Agate, Nagadus Emerald, Vajrada Amethyst, Shivada Jade, or Prithiva Topaz.

Souvenir Shops

In Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor, the player can find souvenir shops, titled With Wind Comes Glory and Mingxing Jewelry, respectively. These souvenir shops sell a limited quantity of elemental gem Slivers, and they only accept sigils as payment.

Marjorie runs With Wind Comes Glory, selling six of each elemental gem's Slivers for 10 Anemo Sigils each.

Xingxi is the operator of Mingxing Jewelry. She also sells elemental gem Slivers for 10 sigils each, though this time it's Geo Sigils that are accepted. Additionally, she stocks 12 of each elemental Sliver.

Once the player purchases the stock of Slivers at each shop, they will not restock, meaning this is a limited option.

Parametric Transformer

The Parametric Transformer is a strange device that can convert materials into other items, including elemental gems. By inputting certain materials, "sets" of items can be created, including a "set" of one elemental Sliver, or a "set" of two elemental Fragments. Which element is obtained is random, meaning this is also not the most reliable method for farming Varunada Lazurite or any other gem. However, multiple "sets" of the same type can be received, meaning the player can receive multiple sets of Slivers or Fragments.

Certain materials inputted as fuel will increase the likelihood of receiving different items, but there's no direct guarantee. It has been found that the following "fuel" types are more likely to result in elemental gems:

Iron Chunk

Cor Lapis

Firm Arrowhead

Hunter's Sacrificial Knife

White Iron Chunk

Noctilucous Jade

Sharp Arrowhead

Agent's Sacrificial Knife

Crystal Chunk

Starsilver

Weathered Arrowhead

Inspector's Sacrificial Knife

Magical Crystal Chunk

Crystal Marrow

Sango Pearl

Loach Pearl

Amethyst Lump

Crystal Core

Electro Crystal

Event Rewards

The final way to find elemental gems is to participate in time-limited events. Most events feature a reward shop or direct rewards for completing certain challenges within the time period.

Often, these event rewards can include limited quantities of elemental gems.
