The Cat's Tail tavern door will be much more elegant in Mondstadt after the Genshin Impact version 3.3 update launches this month. The change will coincide with a brand-new card game making its debut in Genshin Impact, inviting the Traveler and companions to battle each other from a tabletop setting.

Cat's Tail is home to Diona, a bartender and playable character that loathes the lucrative wine industry in Mondstadt. Business is better than ever due to Diona's cat-like appearance and cocktail expertise, but Genshin Impact players can't enter the Cat's Tail tavern just yet. Fortunately, it appears the Cat's Tail tavern will open its door to players in Genshin Impact version 3.3, and the door itself will undergo a redesign to entice many new customers into the tavern.

Reddit user u/cursed_mongus pointed out that the Cat's Tail door is different in the Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG trailer when compared to its appearance in version 3.2. In prior updates, one of the Cat's Tail tavern's cats would wait outside the door, but players are unable to enter the tavern. The Cat's Tail door was redesigned with swinging double doors in the new update, inviting customers and players to try out the new card game and have a refreshing drink made by Diona.

The Cat's Tail renovation is not limited to the door, however. As shown in the Genius Invokation TCG trailer, the tavern will feature a large bar and various tables ready for card-game battling. Cat's Tail's customers are already playing the game and having drinks when the Traveler and Paimon enter, but the duo will soon be able to challenge some of Mondstadt's best card battlers. The card game will be a permanent feature in Genshin Impact going forward, so it will likely receive new content and changes in future updates.

Genshin Impact players have been waiting since the version 1.0 launch nearly two and half years ago to enter the Cat's Tail tavern. Genius Invokation TCG may be a step in the right direction for HoYoverse and Genshin Impact since it allows players to try something new alongside the existing endgame content.

Fans have criticized HoYoverse for the lack of endgame content in Genshin Impact when the studio responded to inquiries about the Spiral Abyss. Hopefully, HoYoverse will take the player feedback seriously for the new update and make Genius Invokation TCG one of Genshin Impact's best features yet.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
