One of the easiest ways for Genshin Impact players to build up primogems throughout the 1.6 update is by finding the numerous treasure chests scattered across the Golden Apple Archipelago. While the majority of the chests found in the region can be unlocked without having to complete any prerequisite tasks, there are several high-value chests that require Genshin Impact players to solve puzzles in order to unlock them.
A puzzle that may be confusing to many players is the locked chest that is found in the Twinning Isle region of the Golden Apple Archipelago. From the waypoint, glide southeast to reach a small island located in the water. On this island players will notice a hilichurl frantically digging into the dirt.
After defeating the hilichurl, players will be able to interact with the ground on the small island. Once players interact with the ground they will unearth a Luxurious chest.
Unfortunately, the luxurious chest is locked with players left having to find a way to obtain the combination to open it. The combination for opening the chest is 5-2-1-4. Once players open the chest, they will receive 40 primogems and 2 Heroes Wit.
For players wondering how the combination is obtained, it is unlocked by reading through the "Songs of a Distant Home" set of stories in the conch shell event menu. In stories 1-4, a number is featured at the end of each of the stories. When players put these numbers together in order, the combination works out to 5-2-1-4.
If players travel to the island where the chest is located and have no option to interact with the ground, it is because they have not unlocked the conch shell required to trigger the quest associated with the locked chest. To find this conch shell, teleport to the Twinning Isle waypoint and travel to the west side of the island.
On this side of the island, players will notice a conch shell icon appear on their minimap. The conch shell is found on a small ledge next to an extinguished firepit.
Once players interact with the conch shell, the side quest "They Who Hear the Sea" will unlock for the player, and direct them to the locked chest's location.
It is worth noting that once players have triggered the side quest, they don't need to find all the remaining conch shells in the region in order to unlock the chest. With a plethora of chests to unlock and primogems to earn in the 1.6 update, players will have no shortage of primogems to roll on either the current Klee banner or the upcomming Kazuha banner.
