Leaks about the Sumeru region and the upcoming 3.0 update are everywhere in the Genshin Impact community. So far, there’s information on the region map, the new Dendro element, and a handful of upcoming characters. Characters are one of the main selling points of Genshin Impact, so it’s no surprise that players are most excited to see who they’ll be pulling for next.

One of the most notable new characters is Tighnari, rumored to be the first 5-Star character of Genshin Impact 3.0. All the recent leaks have given players a pretty good idea of his character. Although, it should be said that these are only leaks, so the actual release may differ from what the leaks say.

Genshin Impact Tighnari’s Character Details

Genshin Impact Sumeru

Tighnari is reportedly the first 5-Star Dendro character to be released once Genshin Impact unveils the Sumeru region. He has the Short Male model, like Chongyun and Kazuha, but with animal traits. According to leaker BLANK, his character design was based off the Fennec fox. This seems in line with his leaked splash art, which has tall ears and a large tail.

As for his personality, leaker Hxg_Diluc says it’s somewhat similar to Albedo’s. Tighnari of Genshin Impact is the Lead Ranger of the Dawson Rainforest. Thus, he’s serious about the study of plant life and protecting the state of his homeland. Many players have pointed out his similarity to the real-life figure, Al-Tighnari, a known Arab agronomist and botanist.

A leak from over a month ago also reported that Tighnari would have a Story Quest. This was before his character details and splash art were leaked, so the community has been talking about him for some time now. Still, it isn’t surprising to know that he’ll be given his own Story Quest, since he’s a 5-Star Character.

Genshin Impact Tighnari’s Kit

Leaker UBatcha described Tighnari as “Dendro Ganyu” because his kit emphasizes Charged Attacks. Tighnari’s Level 1 Charged Attack deals Dendro Damage. At Level 2, however, he shoots a Dendro-infused arrow that summons four new projectiles upon hitting an enemy. These projectiles track enemies and deal AoE Dendro Damage. This sounds somewhat similar to Yoimiya’s Charged Attack style, but the difference is that Tighnari’s Genshin Impact kit requires players to hit enemies to summon the homing projectiles.

As for Tighnari’s Elemental Skill, it entails a ranged AoE attack that deals Dendro Damage in Genshin Impact. The Skill also creates a field that puts enemies into a state of “chaos.” While the Elemental Skill is active, Tighnari’s Level 2 Charged Attacks take less time to build up. The buff ends once the Elemental Skill stops taking effect or after Tighnari fires three Charged Shots. Moving on to the Elemental Burst, this attack has Tighnari “gather the power of all seeds” and fire homing arrows at nearby enemies. Upon hit, the arrows then summon more homing projectiles. All arrows deal Dendro Damage.

Lastly, Tighnari’s Utility Passive in Genshin Impact is similar to Klee and Qiqi’s. Whenever he’s present in a player’s active team, the locations of resources unique to the region of Sumeru will show up on the mini-map. As of now, there’s no information on what Tighnari’s 1st and 4th Ascension Passive Talents are.

That’s all the community has so far on Tighnari’s character details. Leaks say he’ll be released in Genshin Impact version 3.0, but that’s still subject to change. Until then, players will have Genshin Impact version 2.8 with its reruns of Kazuha, Yoimiya, and Klee. The 3.0 update is still some time away, estimated to release in late August of this year.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
