A strange Genshin Impact glitch caused a player to fall out of the sky and into Liyue Harbor after using a teleport waypoint. Liyue Harbor is the setting for a majority of the main Liyue storyline, which concluded shortly before the launch of Genshin Impact version 2.0.

The world of Teyvat seemingly grows with each Genshin Impact update, and the game is expected to introduce the vast Fontaine region in version 4.0. Currently, Genshin Impact players may traverse the Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru regions and surrounding areas like Dragonspine and Enkanomiya. Travel waypoints are beneficial for journeying across Teyvat since it allows the player to fast travel across great distances in mere seconds. However, one player points out that fast traveling may come with some unintended effects in Genshin Impact.

An unusual glitch caused Genshin Impact player Own-Biscotti1525 to fall out of the sky after using a teleport waypoint in Liyue Harbor. Shortly after arriving next to the destination's teleport waypoint, the player is launched high into the skies above Liyue Harbor and Mt. Tianheng, which is close to Ningguang's Jade Chamber. The game suddenly loads for a second time, teleporting the player back to the waypoint's location in Liyue Harbor.

Some Genshin Impact players in the community believe this glitch may often occur in the PlayStation 4 version while loading in NPCs. A Millelith guard may typically be found near the teleport waypoint and alchemy table in Liyue Harbor, and Own-Biscotti1525 may have inadvertently sprinted into the NPC while it was loading into the game world. As a result, the collision between the player and the NPC launches popular Inazuma character Arataki Itto into the sky, causing the game to reload in order to properly render game assets affected by the glitch.

Genshin Impact players on PlayStation 4 should be cautious of the glitch to avoid potential game crashes. Some users note that this issue may occur on mobile devices that meet the minimum requirements required to run Genshin Impact. Fortunately, this glitch does not appear to be prevalent in the PlayStation 5 and PC versions.

This past April, the Genshin Impact version 3.6 introduced Sumeru's final area on all platforms. Genshin Impact players may see this particular region all the way from Mondstadt without issue or glitches. In future updates, players might be able to see Fontaine from a great distance, teasing them about what's waiting to be discovered in the region.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
