Genshin Impact 1.3 introduced Xiao, the latest character that players can get via the game's Wish system. This Polearm-wielding, Anemo channeling warrior is a fierce addition to any party, dealing ferocious damage to his enemies at the cost of his own health. An important aspect of building a party in Genshin Impact is what they will be doing, and height can play an important part in a player's considerations.

While Genshin Impact developer miYoHo has released lots of important information such as birthdays about characters in the game, it has never made the characters' heights canon. Players have done a lot of work on this themselves, based on trailers, in-game assets, and comparing character models. Xiao is thought to be 5’2", the same height as Fischl, Xiangling, Noelle, and Keqing.

It should be noted, a character's exact height in Genshin Impact doesn't matter, even though their build and character model will have an impact on gameplay. All characters' walk, run, sprint, and climb speed are determined by their body size. Genshin Impact currently has three different body sizes and two different genders. The body types are as follows:

  • Adult Male
  • Adult Female
  • Teenage Male
  • Teenage Female
  • Child Male
  • Child Female

Exact movement speeds are difficult to determine, but Adult Male types are considered the fastest moving characters in the game, on land. When it comes to swimming, things get even more complicated as female characters swim faster due to their animations. As Xiao falls into the Teenage Male body type, he will not be the fastest character. If players are building a party with an eye on exploration, it will benefit them to include a taller character, or perhaps take advantage of individual passives such as Kaeya's Hidden Strength that reduces party Stamina consumption, or Razor's Wolvensprint that will provide the same bonus. Players can also put two Anemo characters in their party to benefit from increased movement speed and reduced Stamina drain.

While Xiao may not be the best character to pick for an exploration party, he is certainly a powerful option for any combat party. Thanks to his Anemo abilities, he can create Swirl reactions with Electro, Hydro, Cryo, or Pyro characters, making him a superb option for a main DPS character, even if he isn't the tallest person in the fight.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
