Among the five types of weapons in Genshin Impact, the Sword is likely the most basic. Its wielder can attack faster than Claymore users, but slower than Polearm. They also don't have a special ability like Claymore's Blunt Attack, Bow's Charged Attack, or Catalyst's Elemental Attack.
As of Genshin Impact 2.6, there are more Sword characters than any of the others. Considering the abundance of its wielders, it's highly crucial for players to understand where each Sword places in the Genshin Impact Sword Tier list.
Every weapon passive is written with the effect of Refinement Rank 1 ~ Refinement Rank 5.
S-Tier Sword
The top Tier Genshin Impact Sword is dominated by weapons that are great on technically anyone.

|
Sacrificial Sword |
4-Star |
454 ATK |

Mistsplitter Reforged and Primordial Jade Cutter are pretty much on par with each other. Primordial Jade Cutter is much easier to fully utilize, but Mistsplitter Reforged is amazing even without its full powers. As for the Sacrificial Sword, this weapon is highly popular thanks to Genshin Impact Xingqiu. Other notable users of this equipment are Kaedehara Kazuha and Qiqi.
A-Tier Sword
A-Tier Swords in Genshin Impact are all very powerful, but they're not as flexible or as good as the S-Tier Sword.

Harbinger of Dawn |

Summit Shaper is sadly only viable on DPS with a full-time shielder. Aquila Favonia is amazing but many characters can't benefit from its sub-stat. As for the 3-Star Harbinger of Dawn, even though it has a low rank, its performance is undeniably good and can serve as an easy yet excellent F2P option.
B-Tier Sword
B-Tier Swords in Genshin Impact obviously performs worse than the A-Tier ones.

Amenoma Kageuchi has potential, but not many characters can fully benefit from its passive. The Alley Flash also looks good on paper, but sadly, there aren't many off-field Sword characters in Genshin Impact. Those who are, like Xingqiu and Albedo, already have a much better option.
The only viable user for the Alley Flash is Bennett, and that’s thanks to its high Base ATK.
C-Tier Sword
The C-Tier Sword, The Flute, can be equipped on most Genshin Impact DPS. Unfortunately, their performance won’t improve.

F-Tier Sword
Lastly, on the F-Tier Sword, the Sword of Descension definitely deserves the spot. It may be helpful for new Travelers, but this weapon will very soon be wasted. The Sword of Descension is only obtainable on PS devices, and it has both low Base ATK and low sub-stat.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
