Genshin Impact is composed of seven different nations spread across the world of Teyvat. The game has already introduced three different nations, and with the Inazuma arc coming to an end, players might get the option to explore a new major region fairly soon.
Each Genshin Impact region has a unique and specific design for playable characters and NPCs, which often leads fans to create various skin concepts. Even though developer HoYoverse is yet to confirm the next major update, multiple leaks make it more than likely that Sumeru will be the next region to arrive in the game.
A recent post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit reveals an interesting character concept suited for one of the new major regions. The concept made by Reddit user QAE0 was well-received in the Genshin Impact community as it gathered over 3.5k upvotes. Numerous replies in the comment section claim that the design feels just right as it's based on Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures, which could be the part of the world Sumeru is based upon. This would also make sense since the game's story has already revealed that Sumeru consists of deserts and forests.
Even though the character is not equipped with a vision, the comment section has already started theorizing that he fits the design of a Geo character. Fans are also hoping that with the introduction of the new region, developer HoYoverse could add curved weapons like the one presented in the art. One of the most exciting things about Sumeru's arrival is the fact that it will introduce a brand-new element -- Dendro. Out of the seven Genshin Impact elements, Dendro is the only one that is not a part of a playable character's kit.
Bringing a new element to the game will probably have a huge impact on the game's combat system since it will introduce multiple elemental reactions to Genshin Impact. Previous leaks have revealed that Dendro will work best with Electro, Pyro, and Hydro. Leaks have also revealed more information about the two characters that should arrive shortly after Sumeru -- the Dendro Archon and Collei. The Dendro Archon, also known as the God of Wisdom, will serve as a protector of the whole region, and she will most likely play a big part in upcoming stories.
When it comes to the release date, Sumeru is expected to arrive with Genshin Impact update 3.0. Assuming that the leaks about 2.8 being the last Inazuma update are true, Genshin Impact version 3.0 should arrive around mid-August this year. However, this release date could still be pushed back considering that the upcoming version 2.7 of Genshin Impact has officially been delayed for a couple of weeks.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
