One new ore introduced in Genshin Impact's Version 1.2 update is Starsilver, which can be used to craft new weapons at the blacksmith. Though there are many locations in Genshin Impact to farm Starsilver, here are the most condensed locations and quickest routes.

Starsilver is a new resource in Genshin Impact that was brought by the Version 1.2 update, along with Crimson Agate, which can be offered to the Frostbearing Tree in exchange for rewards. When exploring the new area Dragonspine, travelers will get a quest called Festering Fang and, after finding 3 Strange Teeth, they will be tasked with finding 50 Starsilver. This might seem like a lot, but by following a specific path, the ore can be collected quickly. Keep in mind that Starsilver ore is only located in Dragonspine currently.

Updated on May 13, 2022, by Scott Vengel: While Starsilver has largely taken the backseat as a material in Genshin Impact, the precious ore deposits still hold a lot of relevance for physical DPS and Cryo characters. Since its release in version 1.2, Starsilver has received a few more uses than it had in its original state. As such, this article has been updated to include an up-to-date items list and a little more insight into the collection.

Starsilver Locations in Genshin Impact

Because Starsilver is a rare ore in Genshin Impact, it takes a while to respawn. Similar to Crystal Chunks, it takes 48 hours to respawn but luckily, there are well over 50 deposits located around Dragonspine. The fastest way to gather a large amount of Starsilver is to travel along the edges of Dragonspine. Specifically, the top half edges of Dragonspine have several nodes that are highly concentrated with Starsilver deposits. Some deposits will even drop 3-4 Starsilver each.

By traveling along the outer edges and beaches of Dragonspine, players should be able to collect a large amount of Starsilver quickly. To speed up the process, it's important to equip a character that uses a claymore as a weapon, such as Diluc, Noelle, or Razor. But characters that use explosives, such as Amber or Klee, will also work well.

Other great areas to collect Starsilver include the southernmost islands in the region, and near the Embedded City Outskirts. Generally, making one's way around the entirety of the region's border with Liyue, Mondstadt, and the ocean, will yield the most Starsilver. That said, the precious ore can be found in most places in the region.

What Starsilver Ore is Used For in Genshin Impact

After collecting enough Starsilver, travelers can visit the blacksmith to craft new Dragonspine weapons introduced to Genshin Impact with the 1.2 update, as well as the Warming Bottle. While the Warming Bottle only requires 2 Starsilver to craft, the weapons each require 50 Starsilver to make, so farming the resource is important for travelers who want these rare weapons.

One of the weapons in the Dragonspine Spear, which also requires 8 Festering Teeth to make as well as completing the Festering Fang world quest to get the blueprint for the spear. With it, normal and charged attacks have a 60% chance of dropping an icicle above them, and opponents affected by Cryo are dealt 200% Attack DMG. Because there are great benefits given to Cyro characters in Genshin Impact with the Dragonspine Spear, it makes for a great weapon for Cryo polearm users like Rosaria and Shenhe.

The claymore known as Snow-Tombed Starsilver is another weapon that uses Genshin Impact's Starsilver ore, but players theorize that it will be a formidable weapon for the upcoming five-star Cryo character Eula, especially for those who can't afford to pull five-star weapons from the gacha as it can be crafted at the Blacksmith's. Along with locating 50 Starsilver ore, it also needs 50 Crystal Chunks.

The Dragonspine Spear and Snow-Tombed Starsilver are just a few of the many uses for Starsilver that have been added to Genshin Impact since its introduction in version 1.2. All items that use Starsilver include:

  • Dragonspine Spear (polearm)
  • Snow-Tombed Starsilver (claymore)
  • Frostbearer (catalyst)
  • Warming Bottle
  • Fine Enhancement Ore

Warming Bottles in particular can be a useful tool for players having difficulty in Dragonspine. Only needing 2 Starsilver and 2 flaming flower stamen to be crafted, the Warming Bottle is one of a few easy-to-craft items in Genshin Impact. On the other hand, Frostbearer has similar effects to the Dragonspine Spear, being great for Cryo catalyst users.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
