A new post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit shows the most used characters in the last Spiral Abyss floor. The Spiral Abyss is a unique type of Domain that can be unlocked once players reach Adventure Rank 20.
At the moment, it's considered the only piece of Genshin Impact's end-game content which usually requires players to deploy their strongest team composition. The domain is divided into twelve different floors, each of which has its own unique enemy lineup with the 12th floor being usually the hardest one.
Reddit user soapz231 has shared an interesting chart showing which characters have the highest pick rate in the current version of the Spiral Abyss. It should be noted that the numbers represent the pick percentage within the playable roster for each account. For example, out of all players that have Kazuha, 90.9% of them have used him in Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss. Even though the release of the new Dendro element shifted the character meta, Kazuha still remains the strongest pick in the Spiral Abyss. His ability to group up enemies and shred their resistances as well as provide a strong damage buff to his teammates can hardly be matched by any other character in the game.
Another reason why Kazuha is so popular is the fact that he is one of the most free-to-play friendly characters in Genshin Impact as he does not require insane stats in order to perform on the battlefield. A couple of replies in the comment section claim that developer HoYoverse undermined this character by placing both of his banner appearances one update before a major region which led many players to skip his banner in order to save some Primogems.
The second most popular character is the famous Electro Archon named Raiden Shogun who still holds many records when it comes to banner revenue. Even though she is owned by a large portion of the player base, Raiden Shogun still has an 82.2% pick rate. She is one of the best supports in Genshin Impact, on par with Kazuha and Zhongli. One of her biggest draws is her ability to resolve any Energy Recharge problems a team composition might run into.
The three most popular four-star units are the two Pyro users Bennett and Xiangling, and the Hydro character Xingqiu. Both Bennett and Xiangling have a very strong Pyro application which makes them must-have characters for team composition that rely on this element. Bennett's Fantastic Voyage is one of the best abilities in Genshin Impact as it provides very strong healing and a decent damage buff.
