A Genshin Impact player shared a video of a very unusual glitch that leaves smoke trails whenever the character moves. Glitches have become very common in the game which does not come as a surprise as HoYoverse keeps expanding the world of Teyvat.

The ongoing version 3.6 has introduced two new Genshin Impact regions named Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhkert, both of which are placed in the Sumeru nation. These two sub-regions are rumored to be the last two map expansions until the next major update introduces the long-awaited Fontaine nation.

Reddit user Kodoku has posted a video that got a lot of attention on the game's main subreddit as it gathered over 4.2k upvotes. The post shows a very unusual glitch that causes smoke to follow the player's active character wherever they move. While Kodoku did not mention how they managed to trigger this glitch, the player confirmed that the issue was resolved by simply restarting the game. Another Reddit user named Carlosvonbene147 has pointed out that this bug can occasionally occur when completing certain Daily Commissions. Other comments claim that this type of smoke is related to a specific commission named Practice Makes Perfect which appears in various areas all over the Liyue region.

Some players claim that the game is slowly preparing the player for their journey to Natlan which is one of the three major regions that are yet to be officially revealed. Known as the Pyro nation, Natlan is rumored to feature an enormous volcano which means that there will probably be a lot of smoke effects in this region. Recent leaks have revealed that Natlan's main story will bring to life a popular character who is currently dead. Even though the leak didn't specify who this character might be, most players speculate that it could be La Signora.

Some fans have pointed out that the additional smoke effect suits the Pyro user Hu Tao who is the first character to appear in the video. The smoke fits her overall Pyro theme and ability to deal tons of damage. The footage confirms that the glitch did not go away even after the player used Yelan's Elemental Skill which significantly changes the whole interface.

These two characters have great synergy, and they were recently featured on a Limited Character Banner during the second part of update 3.4. Despite offering two re-runs, this double banner managed to smash Genshin Impact's revenue record.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
