Genshin Impact takes place in a creative and colorful fantasy world known as Teyvat--a world that features a wide variety of areas to explore. As new regions are added, players have more and more opportunities to get a great photoshoot in the environment of their choice. However, one Genshin Impact player recently discovered that some great photo opportunities can be found in glitches.

From time to time, Genshin Impact is affected by glitches that lead to strange visual displays. This isn't necessarily the strangest bug players have run into, but it may be one of the most visually spectacular.

Reddit user Chinchillin09 recently encountered a strange glitch that turned their game into a sea of strange, murky silhouettes. They were playing as new fan-favorite Ayaka and the famous and intimidating Eula, which made the end result even more striking. Both character models were turned pitch black, their edges standing out harshly against a faded red or blue background. Chinchillin09 immediately pounced on the opportunity for a high-contrast, very stylized, absolutely stunning photoshoot.

Apparently, the glitch caused the game environment at Chinchillin09's location to change from a lushly detailed fantasy city to a shadowy, fog-choked realm. The result is reminiscent of Silent Hill in many of the pictures. However, the addition of Eula and Ayaka's silhouettes takes things from eerie to stunning, especially with the monochrome character models standing out sharply against the murky background. The shapes of the city's buildings, staircases, and rooftops are also still visible, growing starker the closer they are to the player. In several shots, Ayaka is shown using her skills to surround herself with ice fragments, giving her shots an even more stylized look. Interestingly, it appears that the ice produced by Ayaka's skills isn't affected by the glitch, as it still appears in full color.

As of writing, it appears that other fans are very impressed by Chinchillin09's impromptu photoshoot. Several users suggested that this is what the underground region of Khaenri'ah should look like when it's implemented. Another group of users stated that these screenshots look like wallpapers or even movie posters, while a third group actively hoped the bug would be added as a feature, so they could hold similar photoshoots. One user in particular stated that the silhouettes looked like Abyssal enemies--perhaps a doppelganger foe the player could fight in the Spiral Abyss. A second quickly replied to this telling them not to give the developers any ideas.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
