Genshin Impact's summertime event, a Midsummer Island Adventure, recently revealed Act II of the Inazuma prequel. Continuing the overarching storyline Mysterious Islands quest, various new islands have sprouted up from the ocean, and players will likely be delighted to discover new locations, puzzles, and quests. And some of them, such as the "From Outer Lands" quest, may help to reveal some of the mysteries surrounding the Golden Apple Archipelago.

The "From Outer Lands" world quest is a mission that players can complete only after unlocking the second act of the Genshin Impact 1.6 update. This quest involves piecing together a message left behind by a shipwrecked crew sailing from Inazuma and stranded among the archipelago. To begin the quest, players should first set sail for the medium-sized island located north of the Pudding Isle.

Upon arrival, players should climb the cliffside. At the top, players will see the first half of the shipwreck. There is a Waverider Waypoint as well as an Echoing Conch located on the island for players to discover. Once they've reached the ship, players should examine the "Slightly Damaged Wooden Plank" on the side of the ship.

According to the message carved into the wooden plank, a crew survived a shipwreck which ended in their boat splitting in half. They managed to survive by floating on the southeast currents on the back half of the ship. They believe that their cargo must have sunk to the bottom of the sea by now. Paimon will suggest that the player attempt to look for the front half of the ship that broke off. The Genshin Impact world quest “From Outer Lands” is now active.

In the message, the crew mentions that they drifted down along the southeast currents. The player can use this information to find where the ship must have originally split apart. There is a similar-sized island northwest of the current one. It is just to the west of the Twinning Isle. Players can hop in their Waveriders and sail from their current location or from a closer Waypoint if one has already been activated.

The second island has a much steeper cliffside. With further exploration, players can find another Waverider Waypoint as well as a mural located on the island. The front half of the ship is at the top of the stone cliff. Examine the “Somewhat Rotten Wooden Plank” to find another message carved into the wood. It seems the group was attempting to sail away from Inazuma but later encountered some trouble while out at sea when their ship split. The missing cargo is not with the front half of the ship. It must have drifted further southeast with the back half of the shipwreck.

The next objective is to locate the missing cargo. Since there are few clues indicating where the goods would have landed, it's up to the player to search the area between the two islands where the two halves of the ship settled. A quest marker should appear showing the possible area where the cargo could have ended up. There are three possible wrecks to search.

  1. One is in the southeastern region of the circle.
  2. One is in the dead center of the circle.
  3. And the last one is in the northwest region of the circle.

Investigate the bubbles at each of the sites to check for the missing goods. At the last wreckage, upon investigating the lost goods, a floating machine emerges from the sea. Players will need to utilize their Waverider’s cannons to attack the machine. Defeating the enemy completes the quest. Upon completion, a Luxurious Chest will appear.

Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Switch version is in development.
