Sangonomiya Kokomi is not a new face in Genshin Impact 2.1. From the trailer of version 2.0, players can immediately see that Sangonomiya Kokomi is a Hydro character. However, her weapon, Catalyst, is revealed later on. Other than her weapon and Vision, here are some things players should know about Kokomi.

8 Divine Priestess Title Is Passed Down In The Clan

Sangonomiya Kokomi is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi island. In Moon-Bathed Deep World Quest, players are told that long ago, the people of Watatsumi island lived under the sea. However, the Serpent God Orobashi decided to lift them to the surface out of pity. Afterward, Orobashi taught the people to farm and smelt. This allows the ancestors to survive on the surface.

However, later on, Orobashi is slain by the Electro Archon. Orobashi's will to protect Watatsumi is so large that it lives on Sangonomiya Clan's bloodline. The heir to this bloodline is called the Divine Priestess, the ruler of Watatsumi island. It has been passed on over the generations. This time, it's Kokomi's turn to wield the title.

7 Not The Best Communicator

Kokomi ascended as the Divine Priestess

As the Divine Priestess, Kokomi is bound to understand the thoughts of her people. However, Kokomi's childhood was spent within military texts. This causes Kokomi to lack social interactions. Eventually, socializing becomes too tiring for Kokomi.

However, after becoming the Divine Priestess, Kokomi has to quickly learn. It is her duty to handle the island's affairs and people's concerns. Although it is not in her utmost interest, Kokomi strives to do her job well for the sake of her people. At first, the people of Watatsumi island underestimated Sangonomiya Kokomi. A lot of them even plot to bring her down. However, Kokomi proves herself to be wise and just. She earns the trust of her people, and none dare to make a move against her.

6 Has A Mood Diary

The Divine Priestess is not only the ruler of the island but also the role model. The people of Watatsumi look up to the Divine Priestess so much that it constantly changes the trend of the island. This means, if Kokomi likes a certain thing, then it will be in fashion. On the contrary, if she dislikes something, people will also avoid that thing.

Because of this, Kokomi has to be self-aware of her emotions. This is especially tiring for Kokomi as she already has trouble with social interactions. Therefore, Kokomi keeps a mood diary. In it, the Divine Priestess records her mood and what happened throughout the day.

5 Doesn't Like Seafood

Watatsumi island is known for its fishing industry. The whole island is a literal water hole where Sango Pearl thrives. However, despite being surrounded by it, Kokomi admitted that she isn't fond of any seafood.

This is a secret, of course. If the words ever get out that Kokomi dislikes seafood, then the people would avoid it altogether. As the Divine Priestess, Kokomi doesn't want to discourage her subjects over her personal preference. On the other hand, her favorite food is the Bird Egg Sushi. This dish is made of Egg with Rice and is also Sangonomiya Kokomi's specialty dish.

4 Fascinated By Military Strategy

Being born in a respected family, Kokomi is naturally well-educated. She reads a lot of books and is mostly in love with military books. Kokomi often visits Yae Publishing House to get the newest books of this genre. Her favorite, Teyvat Art of War, was also purchased there. This book covers classic military campaigns from famous strategists.

Recently, Kokomi has been following the A Legend of Sword series. This book is written by Zhenyu, who is actually Xingqiu from Liyue. The book didn't do well in Liyue but was a massive hit in Inazuma. One could argue that this book is an international work of art, as the cover of the book was illustrated by Albedo from Mondstadt.

3 A Great War General

After spending her childhood between military texts, Kokomi naturally became adept in this field. She's capable of considering every possibility in a battle before sending out her order. This makes Kokomi a fearsome opponent in a war.

However, what makes Kokomi different from the typical war leader is her heart. While most strong leaders would have a clear direction in their order, Kokomi doesn't share the same sentiment. She respects the will and desire of her people, and her decisions are made based on it. Perhaps, it's because she's not only a war general but also the Divine Priestess.

2 Cherishes Her Spare Time

As the Divine Priestess, Kokomi is often busy with the island's affairs. Thus, she always cherishes her spare time. She often would curl up on the bed, walling herself from the world as she reads her book.

At other times, she would take a walk alone on Watatsumi island. Avoiding the crowds as she enjoys the serenity of the violet forest. Sometimes, Kokomi would dive into the sea. Enjoying the calm darkness under the surface. School of fishes would swim around her as she sinks deeper. This is especially settling because of the dilemma that haunts her. Sceneries will remain the same, but the same can't be said about people's hearts. It is a tremendous task to keep everyone happy.

1 Respects Kujou Sara

Despite being on the opposite side, Kokomi still respects Kujou Sara. She stated that Sara is not an opponent to take lightly. Kujou Sara is the General of the Tenryou Commission. She is also a Tengu, which is a non-human race adept in both archery and swordsmanship.

Not only her own strength, but the adopted Kujou is also well respected in the army. The Shogun's soldiers are ready to fight to the death under Kujou Sara's command. Sara may not rely on cunning strategy, but this alone makes her a fearsome opponent on the battlefield.
