All in all, Sangonomiya Kokomi is one of the best healers in Genshin Impact. Her appearance as the head strategist on Watatsumi Island may be misleading, as her presence on a team makes combat easier for players.
Sangonomiya Kokomi is a Hydro catalyst user, with an elemental skill focused on healing, and a burst that heavily increases damage potential. That said, as with other healers in-game, many Genshin Impact players find it difficult to find a weapon for Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Healer Kokomi
As mentioned before, Sangonomiya Kokomi is an excellent healer among Genshin Impact’s cast. Rather than healing with her elemental burst, Kokomi passively heals with her skill. Releasing Bake-kurage, she can both heal and deal Hydro damage in a given area.
Given that Kokomi's healing is based on her elemental skill, energy recharge will be able to increase this aspect of her kit. As such, players should scale Sangonomiya Kokomi's healing by increasing Max HP.
Everlasting Moonglow
- Base ATK: 608
- Sub-Stat: 49.6% HP
- Effect: Healing Bonus increased by 10%, Normal Attack DMG is increased by 1% of the Max HP of the character equipping this weapon. For 12s after using an Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks that hit opponents will restore 0.6 Energy. Energy can be restored this way once every 0.1s.
Everlasting Moonglow is Kokomi’s signature weapon, so it isn't surprising that it is one of the best to pair with her. The weapon increases healing bonus, as well as HP, making it the best single weapon to boost Kokomi’s healing potential. In addition, the weapon increases normal attack strength, and energy collected from such attacks after using Kokomi’s elemental burst, adding a sub-DPS aspect to her playstyle.
Prototype Amber
- Base ATK: 510
- Sub-Stat: 41.3% HP
- Effect: Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 4 Energy every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 4% HP every 2s for this duration.
Compared to Everlasting Moonglow, Prototype Amber is a little bit more accessible weapon for Kokomi. The weapon increases energy generated from an elemental burst, which is great for players looking to build Kokomi with better damage components. In addition, the Prototype Amber regenerates health for teammates after using Kokomi’s burst, as well as boosting her health stats.
Thrilling Tales Of Dragon Slayers
- Base ATK: 401
- Sub-Stat: 35.2% HP
- Effect: When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.
The Thrilling Tales Of Dragon Slayers is a good choice for players not looking to use Kokomi offensively. The weapon increases attack for a teammate after switching Kokomi off the field, allowing her to heal and apply a brief attack boost. In addition, the Thrilling Tales Of Dragon Slayers is the most accessible weapon for Sangonomiya Kokomi, only receiving a rarity of three stars.
Most Optimal Build
While Sangonomiya Kokomi is one of the best healers in Genshin Impact, there is more than one way to build her in-game. That said, the priority should not be focused on weapons, but rather the artifact set given to Kokomi. This aspect will send Kokomi in a particular direction, while her weapon acts as a general boost to her abilities.
Healer vs. DPS
When building Kokomi as either a healer or a DPS character, there’s no better weapon than the Everlasting Moonglow. The healing bonus increase, with the HP-boosted attack, is simply unbeatable in sheer numbers. Players should pair this weapon with a 4-piece Ocean-Hued Clam set when prioritizing healing. For a DPS character, players should invest in a Heart of Depth set.
