Genshin Impact doesn't only have seven different Elements to play with, but players also have to adapt to five different types of weapons. Every character in Genshin Impact, including the default Traveler, has a weapon type of their own. For example, Traveler uses the sword, while Hu Tao uses the polearm.

When Genshin Impact was first released, there was only one polearm character, Xiangling. However, one year later, the list grew very quickly. Of course, with new polearm characters, Genshin Impact also releases new weapons of this type. To know which ones are worth using, players can refer to this tier list.

Polearm Tier List In Genshin Impact

Xiangling with Favonius Lance

This list will include every 5-star and 4-star polearm up until version 2.1. Two 3-star polearms will also be mentioned as they've been proven to perform to an extent.

S-Tier

Hu Tao with Deathmatch

5-star weapons:

  • Staff of Homa
  • Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
  • Engulfing Lightning
  • Skyward Spine
  • Vortex Vanquisher

4-star weapons:

  • Deathmatch
  • Blackcliff Pole

Unlike the niche catalyst, Everlasting Moonglow, every 5-star polearm is worthy of S-Tier. Staff of Homa, Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, and Vortex Vanquisher are all S-Tier DPS weapons. Any DPS can utilize this polearm, and sub-DPS can also benefit from the damage boost.

Engulfing Lightning and Skyward Spine are both great options for support and sub-DPS characters. Notable users for these polearms are Raiden Shogun and Xiangling.

As for the 4-star weapons, Deathmatch and Blackcliff Pole easily take the top spot. They're the best offensive 4-star weapon and can be an easy alternative if players don't own a 5-star.

A-Tier

Rosaria with Crescent Pike
  • "The Catch"
  • Crescent Pike
  • Favonius Lance
  • Dragon's Bane

The Catch is a new addition to the A-Tier polearm. This weapon is an amazing choice for burst-reliant characters and can be a great substitute for Engulfing Lightning. Favonius Lance is also a great supportive weapon, but it's more useful for utility than damage.

On the other hand, Crescent Pike and Dragon's Bane are offensive weapons. Crescent Pike is the best polearm for Physical DPS, while Dragon's Bane is one of the best options for Hu Tao.

B-Tier

Zhongli with Lithic Spear
  • Lithic Spear

Lithic Spear is a great polearm, but due to its limitation, it can't be placed on A-Tier. For Lithic Spear to fully perform, players have to use it with a full Liyue team. Otherwise, it's pretty average.

C-Tier

Zhongli with Black Tassel

4-star weapons:

  • Royal Spear
  • Prototype Starglitter
  • Kitain Cross Spear
  • Dragonspine Spear

3-star weapons:

  • Black Tassel
  • White Tassel

Two 3-star weapons made it into the C-Tier. White Tassel is an amazing choice for new players. It gives a Critical Rate and Normal Attack damage bonus. However, it's only obtainable from treasure chests, so players are recommended to save one max-refined White Tassel.

As for Black Tassel, it's a niche for Zhongli only. This polearm grants HP from its substats, so Zhongli's shield can be even stronger.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
