It’s common for free-to-play games to offer daily login rewards. Developers handing out free items, currency, and crafting materials are a great way to entice players to come back every day. It also provides an opportunity to gently nudge them towards the microtransaction shop. Unsurprisingly, it’s become the industry standard for Android and iPhone games. And while Genshin Impact isn’t just a mobile game, it is not above offering mobile game-style incentives.

Oddly, Genshin Impact deviates from standard practice by putting its login bonuses on the website rather than the game itself. While that’s hardly an insurmountable problem, it’s still inconvenient for many players. One Genshin Impact fan was annoyed enough to create an impressively detailed mockup of what an in-game Daily Login screen could look like.

Reddit user CWHardKnight created the concept art and shared it on the Genshin Impact subreddit. The page is a reasonably simple setup, adding a “Visit From Afar” tab to the top of the events overview menu. Selecting the tab reveals login rewards sorted into groups of five. One group is visible at a time, with arrows for allowing the player to scroll between different sets. There is also an icon on the bottom left that would show the complete list on a single screen. And while not technically part of the interface, the mockup also features some beautiful background art of the bard character Venti strumming his lyre in a forest glen.

The mockup earned a positive reception from other fans on the Genshin Impact subreddit, though there was some nitpicking over the amount and type of rewards offered. It also seems like most fans aren’t optimistic about the possibility of an in-game reward calendar ever being implemented. One reason given is that developer miHoYo doesn’t seem to consider the rewards on the website to be a daily login bonus. Another commented that the daily Check-In bonus is more akin to a login bonus for Genshin Impact’s official forum than the actual game, which was a strange but deliberate choice on the developer’s part.

The daily rewards mockup isn’t CWHardKnight’s only contribution to the Genshin Impact subreddit. He also made a mockup of a cutscene archive so the player can rewatch the story without tracking down YouTube videos. Other examples include concepts for playable versions of characters like the popular event antagonist Scaramouche and the slightly shady alchemist Baizhu. He’s also uploaded various other pieces of Genshin Impact fan art to the site.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
