Genshin Impact is constantly updated with characters to earn through gacha summons, and the success of the title allows miHoYo to create new games such as Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. Gacha games are very profitable and the temptation of earning a brand-new character entices some to spend money. However, a dedicated Genshin Impact player has shown that the game is a rewarding experience for those who don't want to spend a single dollar.

Many distinct locations and treasures fill the world of Teyvat, which is the setting of Genshin Impact. Players may encounter challenging enemies, intuitive puzzles, and engaging quests while traversing the land and progressing the main story. Along the way, many chests are waiting to be discovered by players who search every nook and cranny of the world. Every new version of Genshin Impact brings more content to explore, keeping the dedicated player-base engaged with the title for many weeks at a time.

Genshin Impact player Shahar shared their story of dedication on Reddit and HoYoLAB, announcing to fellow users that they've reached level 60 after logging into the game every day since launch. Shahar's login streak began on September 28, 2020, and currently amounts to 662 days in total. Shahar reached the player level cap as a F2P (free to play) player, which means they didn't spend any money at all during their Genshin Impact journey. All the characters in Shahar's party were earned through summoning with free Primogems and Fates. Jean, a popular 5-star character from Mondstadt, is among one of the characters Shahar obtained for free.

Shahar admits to almost falling for the temptation of spending money for summons, but they ultimately have refused to do so. "Through this whole journey, I had some temptation to whale, but I decided to keep my dignity as a F2P player not really because of anything special but most importantly because of the title and special role it gives you," Shahar said. The player thanks miHoYo for creating a game he truly enjoys, and thanks the Genshin Impact community for its creativity over the past few years.

Shahar's dedication proves that Genshin Impact players do not need to spend money to obtain the characters they want. Genshin Impact provides a lot of rewards and content with each update, and miHoYo will continue to give back to its player base for years to come.

Genshin Impact's gacha elements may be a point of contention for some players, but the financial success allows miHoYo to continue investing in the game and its community. Fortunately, a viable path for F2P players is present with Shahar appearing to be a shining example of positivity.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
