Genshin Impact 2.0 has arrived, bringing a brand new zone to miHoYo's gacha-based RPG. The Inazuma region is one of the seven nations of Teyvat and is themed around feudal Japan. Just like the other Genshin Impact regions, Inazuma is filled with quests, puzzles, and bosses for players to beat.

One of the most mysterious of these world bosses is the Perpetual Mechanical Array, an ancient machine built by a long-dead civilization. While the Perpetual Mechanical Array may seem easy to find on Genshin Impact's map, it's actually quite tricky to locate.

Sailing to Jinren Island in Genshin Impact

While there is a second, longer way to reach the Perpetual Mechanical Array, players must have completed the Cleansing Defilement world quest. Instead, the simplest way to get to the Inazuma boss in Genshin Impact is to warp from Jinren Island. Jinren is a tiny island off the northern coast of the much larger Narukami Island. To get there, players must use a Waverider to cross the sea from the south.

Waveriders can be summoned from Waverider Waypoints, the closest of which is at the northern tip of Narukami island. Sail north across the strait to reach Jinren Island. Once on Jinren, players should head to the east of the island. There they'll find a pillar of stone with an Electrogranum summon point on top of it.

Using the Jinren Island Portal in Genshin Impact

Once players have reached the stone pillar on Jinren island, it's time to activate the portal. To do this, players should summon the Electrogranum by interacting with the plant. This should link the player with the set of Thunder Spheres above their head. To use these Thunder Spheres, look up and press T, Square, or L1. This will jump the player to the first of the Spheres, at which point they can press again to jump to the next one.

Once players have jumped high enough, they'll enter the floating blue portal hanging above Jinren island. The portal will automatically teleport any player that gets close enough. After a brief moment of traveling, they will be deposited in the Perpetual Mechanical Array's boss room.

The new Genshin Impact boss is an odd one, combining the looks and abilities of the game's automaton enemies with its Elemental Hypostases. After defeating the Array, or by running away immediately after arriving, players will be able to backtrack into the ruins. There they can activate the nearby Teleport Waypoint, allowing a quick return to the boss room.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
