With the launch of Genshin Impact's 2.1 update, players have no shortage of new locations to explore in the recently added Watatsumi and Seirai Islands. In the north of Watatsumi Island, Genshin Impact players will find the Palace in a Pool domain, which rewards players with 40 Primogems and 500 Adventurer's XP upon completion.
Unfortunately, like the domains added in the 2.0 update, players will have to complete a series of puzzles before they are able to attempt the Palace in a Pool domain challenge. To reach the domain, teleport to the waypoint east of Bourou village, and head north along the coastline.
How to Unlock Palace In A Pool Domain
Once players have reached the domain, they will notice a flooded circular pit surrounded by locked electro totems and a series of compass devices. For players unfamiliar with the puzzle mechanic, the compass devices will only react/change direction if the player's character possesses an Electrogranum plant.
The player's first objective will be to unlock the four electro-totems by setting the compasses in the right direction. This is accomplished by activating the Electrogranum to the northwest of the circular pit and using it to point each compass in the direction of the electro-totem it is next to.
This can be somewhat tricky as there is only one Electrogranum plant in the area, and activating it will reset the compass that it is next to. As a result, it is recommended that players set all the other compasses first before setting the final compass next to the plant.
Once players have successfully set each of the compasses, the Electro-totems will unlock. Players can now equip an Electro-spec character and use their attack/ability to activate each of the four totems.
After the totems have been activated the water inside the pit will begin to drain and players can descend into it. In the water, players will find a small opening that they must swim into. Players must then follow the flooded corridor before they reach a staircase.
Because of the length of the corridor, it is important that players are mindful of their stamina, as they can easily drown. For players struggling with stamina consumption, there is a branch that can be climbed in the flooded corridor that will allow players to regain their stamina.
Once players reach the staircase at the end of the flooded corridor they will notice a floating relay stone in the room above them. Climb up to the relay stone to find the final device that is used to drain the flooded corridor.
It is important before leaving this final room that players open both of the gates as this will aid them in completing a different puzzle later on. After activating the device, the water will drain and players will be able to access the Palace in a Pool Domain.
