miHoYo recently aired a Special Program detailing Version 1.2 of Genshin Impact, which is set to arrive on December 23 of this year. While Version 1.1 introduced controversially popular characters like Zhongli and Childe, Version 1.2 is set to bring forth an entirely new region of the game named Dragonspine, together with other playable characters and in-game features.

Though inaccessible, Dragonspine has been on the in-game map since release, so Travelers have known of its existence for some time. And although Genshin Impact leaks have done a fair job of sniffing out upcoming content, fans are relieved to have the recent livestream confirm two new small bits of content: the game's newest Artifact Sets.

At the moment, players can find a plethora of Artifacts throughout Genshin Impact. That said, each element, except for Hydro, Cryo, and Dendro, benefits from one Artifact Set that directly boosts the general respective Element's DMG, while providing another relevant passive ability. The lack of an according Artifact Set for the Hydro, Cryo, and Dendro Elements is likely due to the fact that the game didn't feature many characters who used those Visions at release. Dendro, of course, remains untouched, but players now have access to many Hydro and Cryo characters, and as such, the need for standard Artifact Set is dire.

The two new Artifact Sets confirmed by the Special Program are the Blizzard Strayer and Heart of Depth Artifact Sets. The Blizzard Strayer is intended for Cryo users, while Heart of Depth is meant to be used by Hydro-aligned characters. Their effects are detailed below.

Blizzard Strayer

  • 2-Piece Set: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-Piece Set: When a character attacks an enemy affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the enemy is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.

Heart of Depth

  • 2-Piece Set: Hydro DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-Piece Set: After using an Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 30% for 15s.

As per the descriptions above, it's safe to say that the previous Cryo Artifact leak was authentic and near-final in its form. The Artifact Set functions exactly as was speculated, and is even named as it was when players leaked it. Meanwhile, the Heart of Depth actually features a different 4-Piece Set Bonus than it did when leaked. Whereas recent leaks claimed that this Hydro Set may actually help reset Elemental Skill Cooldown, it seems that it actually buffs raw ATK DMG upon using an Elemental Skill, something which lends itself exceptionally well to Childe's movekit.

Players will have to wait until December 23 and the Dragonspine update to get their hands on these Artifacts, but once the patch arrives, they'll simply be able to head over to Dragonspine and challenge a brand new domain. The new domain will feature Blizzard Strayer and Heart of Depth Artifacts as its two "main" rewards, so players will be able to double up on new content while taking on the challenge.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
