Today marks the first full month of release for Genshin Impact, and players continue to grow invested in the game's expansive adventures and lore. While recent events have featured a new wandering NPC and an explosive new playable character, some Travelers have been taking the time to analyze all of the game's intricacies, like the thoughtful flavor text found throughout miHoYo's official website.

One such Traveler has noticed that special dialogue text for the character "Sucrose" contains a potential pattern of hints, leading to important Genshin Impact dates. Of course, this is still purely within the realm of speculation, but the evidence is certainly there.

Sucrose is one of the characters being featured on the promo banner for the new explosive Pyro child, Klee. She's an Anemo-aligned mage who seems to rely on a more scientific approach to "magic," and constantly talks about her experimental projects. Players have been able to read narrative content regarding characters like Sucrose on miHoYo's website for some time now, but understandably, most gamers have focused on playing the game itself.

Bearing that in mind, Sucrose now seems to have a new line of dialogue that may hint towards a possible future addition to Genshin Impact. The line in question (emphasis added) reads: "And this one is called... Mist Flower Project 3, Version 17, Enlargement Trial."

Most people would read that and instantly dismiss it as another miscellaneous detail regarding Sucrose's side projects, or perhaps as simply the name of one of her abilities, but Redditor u/genosy's post highlights why this particular phrase is noteworthy.

In short, Genshin Impact was released on September 28th, 2020 (or, 9/28) and miHoYo sneakily announced that date in the tail-end of a post concerning Sucrose's background. The sneaky announcement in question?

"...So I guess I'll just call it... "Sweet Flower Project 9, Version 28, Scent-Strengthening Trial!"

Needless to say, this is the exact same formatting used in the above "Mist Flower Project" phrase.

Given that September 28th marked the release of the game, and that Sweet Flowers are common ingredients found throughout the entire current map of Teyvat, fans are speculating that "Mist Flower Project 3, Version 17, Enlargement Trial" refers to a future "enlargement" (AKA expansion) of the game, on March 17th (or, 3/17.) Specifically, many fans are asserting that this will serve as the introduction of Inazuma, the much-anticipated Japan-inspired region of Genshin Impact.

Although the Japan-like part of Teyvat is associated with the Electro Vision (rather than Hydro or Cryo, which are associated with the Mist Flower), it is only accessible by water, which fans are using as further evidence in support of a March 17th expansion theory, featuring the tense, electrifying, land of Inazuma. Moreover, the confirmed future character, Ayaka, is a Cryo-user from Inazuma, so who's to say Mist Flowers won't be a common Inazuma plant?

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for Switch.
