Rectifying some inconsistencies between Genshin Impact lore and character rankings, one player has decided to give each hero stars that make sense with the lore that fans have been given. Since it was released in 2020, HoYoverse has attributed certain ranks to each Genshin Impact character, with some of them not making much sense in the story.

Some things don't make much sense in the Genshin Impact lore as many characters do things in the storyline that would otherwise seem beyond their skill levels. Though even stronger 6-star Genshin Impact characters have been rumored in the past, the 5-star rank is as powerful as the heroes will get based on the existing metrics, with some not quite reaching as high as others. Each Genshin Impact hero represents one of seven different elemental types which have their benefits and disadvantages which can affect their performance in combat, but star ranks can also play a role.

Reddit user Jootkingdom has garnered 4,000 upvotes on several portrait images from the HoYoverse ARPG with a post suggesting that they should all be 5-star based on Genshin Impact lore. According to Jootkingdom, Genshin Impact's Beidou, Kujou Sara, Ningguang, Noelle, Kaeya, Lisa, and Razor all deserve to be 5-stars in Genshin Impact in correspondence to the lore. HoYoverse has released the characters with much less power in Genshin Impact, however, as all the heroes illustrated by Jootkingdom are only 4-stars.

As Jootkingdom was able to spark up a conversation, other Reddit users have inferred that Genshin Impact's Barbara, Candace, Eula, and Thoma should be part of the lore-based improvements, while others have stated that Hu Tao, Itto, and Yoimiya are less deserving of their 5-star ranks. The community points to numerous lore reasons for why the characters deserve the one-point boost or deduction like what clan they're part of, who they've defeated based in the storyline, and potential max-star heroes that consider them an equal. The most recently released Genshin Impact character is a Pyro called Dehya and because she's also 5-star, many players have pointed to her as an excuse to reevaluate the whole ranking system.

HoYoverse continues to update Genshin Impact with fresh faces like Alhaitham, Dehya, and Yaoyao, many of which are added to the game with a maximum star standing. Given that rumors have suggested that 6-star characters may come to Genshin Impact, it's possible that the heroes highlighted by Jootkingdom could get adjusted in the future.

Genshin Impact is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, while a Nintendo Switch version is currently in development.
