Genshin Impact allows players to link their mobile account with their PC account, creating a seamless link between the two platforms. Doing this is required for those players that want to enjoy the cross-save functionality built into the game, and is actually a simple and painless process.
Updated April 24th, 2021 by Anthony Puleo: Genshin Impact has come a long way in the time since its September launch, but the process of linking mobile and PC accounts is still the same. While many players are spending their time exploring new regions like Dragonspine or anxiously awaiting the release of Inazuma, newcomers to the game will want to figure out how to link their accounts as soon as possible.
Genshin Impact is currently available on Mobile, PC, and PS4, with a Switch port on the way in the near future. While the mobile experience is great for playing on the go and doing some light farming, it lacks the ease of control and larger screen that players have with PC and PS4. To accommodate for this, players will need to link their PC and Mobile accounts.
Linking Genshin Impact Mobile to PS4
At the time of writing, there is currently no cross-save functionality on PS4. While the Mobile and PC versions can be switched between with minimal effort, players are stuck on PS4 for the time being if that's where they made their account initially. With any luck, that will change in the future, perhaps when Genshin Impact comes to Switch.
Genshin Impact - Step-by-Step Instructions On How To Link Accounts
- Log in to Genshin Impact on PC or mobile.
- Open the main menu and select the settings menu (looks like a gear).
- Click on account and then select User Center.
- Click on Email to get a verification code sent to the email address associated with the account.
- Enter the verification code from the email into the verification section in-game
- Players can also choose to link their accounts using social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, and even Game Center
After you enter the code found within the email in the verification section in-game and the PC and Mobile versions of Genshin Impact should now be linked.
This will allow for players to adventure with the same save file whether they're playing on PC or Mobile, giving them the best of both worlds in terms of portability and performance. Players having trouble with this step are also able to make the link using their social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, and even Game Center. This process is done in the Linked Accounts tab of the options menu and uses similar steps to linking with email address.
Unfortunately, there's still been no word about when linked accounts will be possible on the PS4. That said, Genshin Impact confirmed a PS5 upgrade version coming soon, so it's possible that the feature will be added then as well. Until that time, PS4 players will have to make a separate account should they want to play on PC or Mobile.
