With the addition of a brand-new Genshin Impact region, fans have already started speculating about new characters that could join the playable roster. Developer HoYoverse has already confirmed three new additions for update 3.0: Tighnari, Collei, and Dori.
Multiple Genshin Impact leaks have already been hinting at new characters who should become playable in the upcoming months. One such character is a popular Harbinger who has made multiple appearances throughout the story.
A popular Genshin Impact leaker named hxg_diluc has revealed that one of the Harbingers named Scaramouche will undergo some significant changes before he officially joins the playable roster. His first appearance was in the guest "The Crisis Deepens" where he's introduced as a "vagrant from Inazuma." Scaramouche seemed to be a friendly character before Mona and the Traveler sensed his true intent and escaped from the scene. According to hxg_diluc, the Scaramouche that will join the playable roster will be much different from the one that was shown in the game so far.
Scaramouche is currently known as the sixth Harbinger and one of the most popular characters in the game. However, considering the fact that he was not present in the recent Fatui Harbinger teaser video, multiple replies in the comment section claim that he had a change of heart and switched to the good side. While he was previously rumored to be an Electro character, hxg_diluc has revealed that his delusions will allow him to control the Anemo element now.
Another popular leaker by the name Merlin_Impact has also been hinting that Scaramouche will be a new Anemo character in Genshin Impact. The leaker mentioned that he will be using the catalyst as his main weapon which would make him the second male character to have this weapon type. Scaramouche will apparently have a similar style of fighting to Shikanoin Heizou who prefers close combat despite using a catalyst.
Fans are absolutely in love with Heizou's unique fighting style which could be the reason why developer HoYoverse decided to turn Scaramouche into a close combat catalyst. The leaker revealed that his elemental skill and burst will have a 9-second and 15-second cooldown. When it comes to his release date, Scaramouche is expected to arrive in updates 3.2 or 3.3 which means that players will have to wait for a couple of additional months to pull for him.
Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
