Genshin Impact's upcoming Sumeru update will introduce many new characters to the playable roster. The game's official social media accounts have already announced three new characters for update 3.0.

HoYoverse's recent Sumeru traveler has also revealed six new five-star units that should join the game in the upcoming updates. One of the most popular Genshin Impact leakers, hxg_diluc, has apparently revealed the release dates of the new characters.

The two characters that stand out on the list are Nahida and Wanderer. Nahida is expected to be a new Genshin Impact Archon who serves as the protector of the new Sumeru region. She is also known as the God of Wisdom, and the game's story has confirmed that Nahida is the youngest Archon in Teyvat. Even though developer HoYoverse usually adds new Archons to the playable roster one update after a new major region arrives, it seems like players will have to wait for 3.2 to pull for this unusual character.

The Wanderer mentioned in the leak is actually the sixth Harbinger Scaramouche who has made multiple appearances in the game, and he will most likely arrive with update 3.3. While the leak mentioned that there is a chance that he might appear on a banner in 3.2, it's highly unlikely since HoYoverse usually avoids placing two popular Genshin Impact characters in one update. Even though he was expected to be one of the end-game villains, recent leaks have been hinting that he will have a change of heart and switch to the good side.

Rumors have also revealed that in addition to his name, he will also change his element from Electro to Anemo. Fans claim that this change to Scaramocuhe's character could be the reason why he wasn't featured in the recent Fatui Harbinger video. When it comes to the weapon type, the Wanderer is expected to use the catalyst which will make him the second male character to use this weapon. He is also rumored to have a similar style of fighting to the recently released Shikanoin Heizou.

According to HoYoverse's usual update schedule, players can expect Version 3.2 to drop at the end of November and 3.3 should arrive at the start of 2023. However, these leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt as other recent leaks claim that there could be some changes to the upcoming Genshin Impact banners.

Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
