A new leak from Genshin Impact has revealed that two popular members of the Fatui's Harbingers may not be playable in the near future. Since the HoYoverse RPG's debut in late 2020, the game has featured several different major antagonists within its story who would eventually become playable characters. Characters like Tartaglia, Raiden Shogun, and Wanderer would all match up against the Traveler at different points throughout the game before coming to ally themselves with the player. Among the most notable of the game's many antagonists so far have been the eleven Fatui Harbingers.

The Fatui are first introduced as an elite organization from Genshin Impact's snowy northern region of Snezhnaya, trying to gather the mystical Gnoses held by each region's Archon. Genshin Impact's story has already featured multiple members of the Fatui's elite Harbingers with players already getting to cross swords with three of the eleven leaders. Two members of the Fatui, Tartaglia and Wanderer, have also become playable characters after their time in the spotlight, leading many fans to believe the others would follow suit. Now, however, the status of two popular Harbingers appears to be up in the air.

A new leak from prominent Genshin Impact leaker group Team China has revealed more information about the status of Fatui Harbingers Dottore and Arlecchino. The leak claims that both Fatui Harbingers, referred to as "Lunatic" and "Traitor," will not be playable due to their in-game models being edited NPC models. Dottore appears multiple times throughout the Sumeru region's Archon Quest, acting as one of the main antagonists of Genshin Impact's newest region. Arlecchino is heavily speculated to play a major role in the story for the upcoming region of Fontaine.

While Team China's reveal suggests neither Fatui member will be playable at all, another popular Genshin Impact leaker, Tao, offers some solace for fans. Tao's update would suggest that the two characters were simply not planned for Fontaine, rather than not being included in the roster at all. The absence of either Fatui Harbinger would not be the first time a Harbinger has appeared in the story but did not become playable, with Signora featuring prominently in Inazuma's Archon Quest.

While Arlecchino and Dottore may not be playable any time soon, Genshin Impact has already seen numerous leaks about expansions to the game's roster in Fontaine. Previous leaks have revealed more than ten Fontaine characters expected to join the game after the release of Version 4.0 later this year. Several older regions will reportedly be receiving new characters as well, including highly-requested additions like Mondstadt's Varka. Fans of the Fatui Harbingers will look to have plenty of time to save up their Primogems for the next member.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
