A surge in leaks from numerous Genshin Impact insiders reveal two upcoming characters, Eula and Yanfei. One of the characters is already hot in the community, and this likely means more leaks and information are to come.
Rumors surrounding Genshin Impact characters rarely die down. Previously, Xiao was one of the most highly anticipated characters, as he appeared during Genshin's closed beta testing prior to release. Then players fell in love with Hu Tao's design, and she proved to be a powerful polearm wielder of Pyro. Now, with Hu Tao's banner coming to an end, players are looking for the next heavily rumored characters to farm content for. While Ayaka and Scaramouche are somewhere on the horizon, two new upcoming characters have quickly taken the spotlight thanks to leaks.
All screenshots and images seemingly surfaced around the same time from multiple leakers well-known to the Genshin Impact community. Coming up, players can expect a new Cryo claymore character named Eula and a Pyro catalyst wielder named Yanfei. According to the leaks, Eula will be a five-star character and Yanfei will be a four-star.
One Genshin Impact leaker known as NEP NEP on Twitter has unveiled both the splash art for Yanfei, or artwork that pops up when players successfully pull a character from the gacha, as well as character card portraits for both Yanfei and Eula. Other informants such as Dim on Twitter have posted alleged in-game screenshots of Eula and some information about the pair.
According to insiders, Yanfei hails from Liyue and works as a legal advisor in the harbor. The description states that her blood is mixed with "an illuminated beast." Perhaps she's also part adepti like the Cryo five-star Ganyu, whose official description also says she shares the blood of "an illuminated beast."
Eula, on the other hand, has quickly captured the hearts of Genshin Impact fans. Also known as the Spindrift Knight according to the insiders, she's a Captain of the Knights of Favonius alongside Kaeya and Albedo. Eula is a descendant of the ancient nobles and head of the Reconnaissance Company.
As always, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, as some past Genshin Impact leaks from these same sources have turned out to be false. That's all the information known about the pair, but if the leaks are accurate, Yanfei would be the first four-star Pyro that wields a catalyst, and Eula would be the first five-star Cryo who utilizes a claymore as her weapon of choice.
Genshin Impact is currently available on Mobile, PC, and PS4. PS5 and Switch versions are expected to release in 2021.
