Rumors play a big part in the world of Genshin Impact, and the popular Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has already gathered over 220k members. An interesting post on the subreddit has unveiled a lot of information about one of the upcoming characters, the long-awaited Yelan. The thread reveals the following information about her kit:

  • Yelan can apply Hydro effects while being off-field.
  • She needs sub-stats with HP.
  • She has low personal damage.
  • Feels "uncomfortable to play."
  • Yelan has an Energy Recharge problem which can be resolved by acquiring the first constellation.
  • Some of her constellations can allow her to recharge energy for the whole party.

Yelan has been rumored to be a new character for many months now, with her model being leaked in the beta phase for the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.6. The absence of any information about her kit has led many players to believe that she will not join the playable roster just yet. However, her appearance confirms that she will be a new Hydro bow user, which will make her the second character after Tartaglia to have this weapon-element combination.

Yelan is also expected to be a five-star character, and she is rumored to arrive alongside a new four-star named Kuki Shinobu. When it comes to the other banner cycle, multiple leaks hint that she will be joined by two new Genshin Impact banner re-runs featuring the Pyro user Yoimiya and the founder of the Arataki clan, Itto. Both of these characters are considered great choices for the DPS position.

Even though Hoyoverse has introduced a pattern of bringing a new character and two banner re-runs for each update, there is a chance that they could pick up the pace in the foreseeable future. An official presentation back in 2021 has revealed that Genshin Impact will add approximately 17 new characters each year. Including the upcoming Kamisato Ayato, the game has made a total of seven additions to the playable roster over the last six months, which means that players can expect around ten new Genshin Impact characters by October this year.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
