A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed two new parts of Sumeru that should arrive in the near future. Developer HoYoverse has introduced this new major region in version 3.0 which also brought the long-awaited Dendro element and three new additions to the playable roster.

Genshin Impact update 3.1 added the first desert part of Teyvat, which quickly became a fan-favorite thanks to its unique environment and numerous temples that are part of the main story. Even though the recent live stream for update 3.2 did not mention anything about new regions, it seems like the next couple of updates will bring two new Sumeru expansions.

A credible Genshin Impact leaker named GenshinBLANK has revealed an interesting map showing new parts of Sumeru that might arrive in the future. So far the game has introduced the rainforest shown on the east side of the map and one of the deserts located in the south of the image. According to the leak, Sumeru's future expansions will all be to the north, and they will all be covered with sand, which confirms previous theories that the nation is made mostly of deserts. There is still no official information about the release dates of these regions, but the next expansion is expected to arrive in version 3.4, which should arrive around mid-February.

The main reason why the two next updates won't introduce any new regions to the game is probably the fact that both 3.2 and 3.3 will add two very popular characters to the game, Nahida and Scaramouche. The Dendro Archon has already been confirmed in the recent live stream event, and Nahida is expected to arrive on the first banner cycle alongside the fan Electro catalyst user Yae Miko.

Recent leaks have also revealed the first banner will be equipped with a strong four-star lineup featuring Bennett, Noelle, and Razor. As a new Archon, Nahida is expected to be one of, if not the strongest Sumeru character to arrive to the playable roster thanks to her ability to constantly apply the new Dendro element on the field.

According to the same leaker, the desert part that is scheduled to arrive in Genshin Impact 3.4 will include numerous caves, which means that large parts of playable terrain could be placed underground. Developer HoYoverse will also add a new boss that will drop Nahida's ascension materials and considering that there won't be any map extensions, the boss will have to be placed in one of the existing locations in Sumeru.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
