Genshin Impact has finally introduced the anticipated update 3.0 which includes numerous big additions like a new major region, a new element, and loads of new characters and weapons. However, even though there are tons of quality-of-life improvements in the update, according to a big part of the community, developer HoYoverse is yet to tackle one of the game's biggest problems which is the constant content droughts.

A new post on the official Genshin Impact Leaks subReddit has revealed more information about one of the upcoming permanent game modes. A credible leaker named merlin_impact has given additional details about a new TCG mode that should arrive in the foreseeable future.

The leaker has confirmed that there will be online matchmaking and weekly commissions tied with this game mode, but they will get unlocked after a player reaches level 2. The maximum level will apparently be set to 10, at least for the now. At the beginning of each game, players will need to choose their initial character and beat the opponent's characters in order to win. They will be given elemental energy at the start of each turn by rolling eight dice. The majority of the community seems very happy about HoYoverse's decision to add permanent game modes as the Spiral Abyss seems to be the only piece of end-game content at the moment.

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that once a player finishes all the quests that are limited for the update, there are not a lot of activities that can be done in the world of Teyvat, especially since the game runs on a Resin-based system. Adding more permanent game modes will significantly improve the end-game experience for many players.

Even though the same leaker initially said that the new game mode will arrive in the next update, recent 3.1 beta leaks haven't mentioned anything about it which means that it will most likely join the live servers in 3.2 or 3.3. Players seem a bit disappointed with the delay claiming that releasing a new TCG mode alongside Sumeru's first desert in Genshin Impact version 3.1 would give strong Yu-Gi-Oh vibes.

The game has already confirmed three new characters for the next update: Cyno, Nilou, and Candace. This means that the new permanent game mode could arrive alongside the long-awaited Dendro Archon Nahida, in Version 3.2. While the game is yet to officially announce her arrival, it's likely that she will be a part of 3.2 due to her importance to Sumeru's official storyline.

Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
