Genshin Impact updates consist of two banner cycles, each of them offering five-star and four-star characters and weapons for a short period of time. Limited banners usually last for around three weeks before another banner takes its place.

Once limited five-star characters are gone, it usually takes five to eight months before players can pull for them on their re-run. With an ever-expanding character roster, developer Hoyoverse has started to include multiple banner re-runs inside an update which wasn't the case before Genshin Impact update 2.3.

A recent post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed a lot of information about the upcoming updates. According to the leak, two popular characters will receive banner re-runs in the foreseeable future. Arataki Itto will apparently arrive in Genshin Impact update 2.7, while Kazuha is scheduled to arrive in 2.8. Itto should arrive alongside a brand-new character named Yelan who has already been confirmed by the game's social media accounts.

Arataki Itto is a claymore Geo character and the head of the famous Arataki gang. He arrived back in update 2.3 where he was released alongside another Geo character, Gorou. Itto is one of the strongest DPS characters in Genshin Impact with a strong focus on his empowered Normal Attacks provided by his Elemental Burst. He is one of the main representatives of the "selfish DPS" characters, which is considered to be a subclass of characters that don't really like to be swapped out.

Itto's release has started an interesting trend when it comes to creating a unique team composition. He was considered to be the key missing piece of a full-Geo party. Since his release, players have started building their Genshin Impact team composition with only Geo characters, which is possible because its elemental reaction Crystalize can work independently of all the other ones. At the time, this seemed to be one of Hoyoverses intentions considering that they've made the 2.3 Spiral Abyss lineup compatible with the Geo element.

Kaedehara Kazuha is considered to be one of the strongest supports in the game. His first banner appearance was far from successful since he was regarded as a weaker version of another Anemo character, Venti. Since then, the meta has heavily shifted and Kazuha often finds himself topping the usage charts for the Spiral Abyss. He was previously rumored to appear on the current Genshin Impact update 2.6 alongside Venti, but it seems like Hoyoverse decided to further delay his second arrival.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
