A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed some upcoming graphic changes that could arrive in the upcoming update. The last two updates have introduced the first parts of the mysterious Sumeru region which quickly became a fan-favorite.

While players don't expect any map extensions in the upcoming update, it seems as though Genshin Impact could bring some adjustments to its graphic settings. This anime-inspired game runs on a cel-shaded rendering technique which is one of the main reasons behind its global success.

One of the most credible leakers named Sagiri claims that Genshin Impact update 3.2 will replace SMAA and TAA, which are the current anti-aliasing techniques, with FSR 2.0. According to the leak, players will apparently have the option to choose between FSR 2.0 or to turn anti-aliasing completely off. However, this change is live in the 3.2 beta and there is a chance that the game will allow players to swap between FSR 2.0 and SMAA. Developer HoYoverse is yet to officially speak on this matter, but players will probably have to wait for the upcoming Special Program for version 3.2.

Multiple fans in the comment section are not happy about this change since the leak confirmed that it will reduce the game's FPS by 10. Instead of this change, players claim that they were actually hoping to see some FPS improvements as the game's PC version is currently capped on 60 FPS. Even though this is a significant change that will affect a number of players, it kind of flew under the radar in the community. One of the main reasons is probably the fact that the first Sumeru updates are packed with loads of new content.

Genshin Impact new graphics

Developer HoYoverse has officially confirmed the arrival of the long-awaited Dendro Archon named Nahida who already made multiple appearances in the game's official storyline. She will be the first five-star Dendro support which means that players won't have to rely on Collei and the Traveler for their Dendro application.

She won't be the only new addition to the playable roster as the game's official social media account confirmed another character named Layla. Even though HoYoverse is yet to officially reveal her rarity, Layla is expected to be a new four-star character. When it comes to her role, recent beta leaks have been hinting that she might be a new Cryo support, similar to Diona.

Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
