A new Genshin Impact video leak shows the gameplay for the upcoming TCG mode named Genius Invokation which is expected to arrive in the next update. Developer HoYoverse already confirmed two new roster additions for the same update, a new five-star Anemo user named Wanderer and a four-star Cryo support, Faruzan.

The new TCG mode was first mentioned during the Special Program event for Genshin Impact version 3.1. Since then, developer HoYoverse has not revealed a lot of official information about this game mode other than announcing its arrival in update 3.3, which according to their usual update schedule should drop in the first half of December.

A new post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has finally revealed more about the Genius Invokation game mode. Each deck in the game consists of 3 characters and 27 other cards which include event, equipment, artifact, support, and action cards. Once the game starts, players can pick their active character that can attack and receive damage, but it should be noted that this character can be swapped out later in the game. After picking an active character, players have to roll eight Elemental Dice which will determine the element of the character they can play.

Just like outside the TCG mode, each character has a unique elemental skill and burst which can be played by using the corresponding elemental dice. Elemental bursts are usually much stronger, and they require additional energy which can be obtained by using some of the game's support cards. According to previous leaks, the elemental dice will play a huge role in the actions a player can take within a turn or a round.

A round consists of multiple turns, and it ends when players use up their dice or declare the end of the round. A player can win a game of Genius Invokation by defeating all three of the opponent's active characters, but it should be noted that players can also choose to only have one or two of those. According to HoYoverses live stream event, multiple NPCs will be spread over the world of Teyvat waiting for their battle against the Traveler.

According to the comment section, fans seem very happy about the new TCG mode as it addresses one of Genshin Impact's greatest problems which is a lack of end-game content. The game's Resin-based system does not allow players to constantly farm for their ascension materials or artifacts.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
