Genshin Impact has released a new trailer to help introduce players to its upcoming character Kamisato Ayaka. The video gives players a brief look at Kamisato's personality and appearance, although it does not show how she will play in Genshin Impact.

Some players may recognize the character, as she was playable in the Closed Beta Test held in July 2019. Ayaka's release in Genshin Impact was also leaked recently, which led to many fans celebrating that the highly anticipated player would be coming to the full game. Although, many players still had more questions about what the character would actually be like when she was added to the game.

However, the new trailer teasing the character gives players more of a look at Kamisato Ayaka's background and personality. Kamisato Ayaka and her brother, Kamisato Ayato, divide the responsibilities of running their clan between them, with Ayaka watching over the clan's internal and external affairs. These affairs are referenced in the trailer, with Ayaka thinking about how she has to attend to her duties as she interacts with the people of her clan. However, Ayaka also has a secret desire teased by the trailer that may play into Genshin Impact's new story elements in the 2.0 update.

The trailer does not give any information on how Kamisato Ayaka will play when she releases, but the character's moves and elemental alignment are already known. Ayaka uses Genshin Impact's Cryo element. Her Soumetsu ability summons a snowstorm that repeatedly slashes any enemy that it reaches. Five rapid strikes define her normal attack while her Hyouka ability summons ice from the ground to launch enemies and deal AoE Cryo damage. Finally, her Senho ability covers her in a fog of frigid air that allows her to move quickly and apply Cryo to nearby opponents when the ability ends.

While Kamisato Ayaka is one of the most anticipated new characters, many new characters are coming to Genshin Impact with its 2.0 update for players to get excited about fighting with and various other new features and improvements coming. It is great to see Genshin Impact continue to be supported and developed, especially as the game is free-to-play. Thankfully, players do not have long to wait to check out all of the new content coming to Genshin Impact, as its 2.0 update is scheduled to arrive on July 21.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with a Switch port currently in development.
