Ever since Genshin Impact was officially released, Kamisato Ayaka has been anticipated by the fans. This is thanks to her appearance in the beta. While the wait took a while, players still gladly welcome the Cryo Princess. She was released in Genshin Impact 2.0, along with the Japanese region, Inazuma.

Ayaka's skill set mostly focuses on utilizing Cryo DMG. She can be the main DPS or sub-DPS in Genshin Impact, depending on the player's needs. As a Cryo unit, her best artifact (currently) is a four-piece of Blizzard Strayer. Meanwhile, for Ayaka's best weapon in Genshin Impact, there are a few viable options.

Updated on March 20, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: Due to how Blizzard Strayer works in a permafreeze team, Crit DMG holds a higher value than Crit Rate for Ayaka. Other than this stat, the Kamisato Princess also benefits from other stats like ATK and Energy Recharge, considering she's a main DPS that deals massive damage through her Elemental Burst. With new characters and areas released in Genshin Impact, there are now plenty more Swords players can use on their Ayaka. For example, the free weapon from Kazuha's quest or even limited Swords designed for other characters like Ayato and Alhaitham.

15 Alley Flash

Alley Flash has a massive base ATK, higher than even some 5-star weapons. It has a low Elemental Mastery sub-stat in return, but since Ayaka commonly doesn't need Elemental mastery, it's not a big deal for her. When using Alley Flash, players should ensure that she's protected by a shield; this Sword increases any DMG by 12% (24% on R5) unconditionally, but the effect will be removed for 5s if the wielder takes damage.

If players don't have Zhongli, they can always opt for a permafreeze team with a crowd control unit like Venti, Sucrose, and Kazuha. Since the opponent would be frozen for eternity, they can't attack Ayaka and Alley Flash can always maintain its DMG bonus.

14 Kagotsurube Isshin

ayaka holding kagotsurube isshin in genshin impact

Kagotsurube Isshin is a weapon obtainable via Kazuha's Story Quest. This Sword can't be refined and will only stay at R1, so players should opt for other Swords once they get a better refinement level. For Ayaka, Kagotsurube Isshin provides decent base ATK, more ATK through its sub-stat, and even more from its passive.

However, due to its ATK-heavy feature, players would want to ensure their Ayaka has enough Crit stat to operate effectively. Fortunately, being a Cryo user, the main concern when building Ayaka only lies in her total Crit DMG.

13 Festering Desire

ayaka holding festering desire in genshin impact

Festering Desire is a free sword obtainable in Genshin Impact 1.2. It's an amazing weapon for sub-DPS that relies on Elemental Skill and Burst. For main DPS Ayaka, Festering Desire isn't as good as the universal-role swords, but for sub-DPS Ayaka, Festering Desire can perform greatly.

Its passive will boost Ayaka's Elemental Skill DMG while its secondary stat will help the Cryo Princess regain her ultimate faster. Unfortunately, if players missed out on the 1.2 event, there's currently no way to get this sword. Hopefully, though, HoYoverse will consider opening other methods to get event-locked weapons in the future.

12 Harbinger of Dawn

ayaka holding harbinger of dawn in genshin impact

Harbinger of Dawn may be a 3-star weapon in Genshin Impact, but it's comparable to some R1 4-star weapons thanks to its powerful passive. As long as players can maintain the wielder's HP above 90%, they will enjoy an additional 28% Crit Rate on top of its Crit DMG sub-stat.

One downside of this sword is the fact that it has a low base ATK (which is normal for a 3-star weapon, though). Furthermore, as Ayaka is a Cryo unit, the Crit Rate bonus may end up being wasted on her.

11 Blackcliff Longsword

ayaka holding blackcliff longsword in genshin impact

Blackcliff weapons are always a great option for F2P players. For Kamisato Ayaka, Blackcliff Longsword is perfect for its Crit DMG sub-stat and attack-enhancing passive. As a Cryo character, it's trivial for her to stack Crit Rate. Blizzard Strayer can grant a 40% Crit Rate, and Cryo Resonance can grant another 15%. So Ayaka basically has a free 60% Crit Rate (with the 5% base stat). So all players need to do is stack as much Crit DMG as possible.

To get this weapon, players have to spare 24 Masterless Starglitter at the Paimon Shop.

10 Aquila Favonia

Aquila Favonia in Genshin Impact could have been the best sword in the game, but sadly, there are not many characters that can utilize it. Any sword characters that are being played as a Physical DPS will benefit from Aquila, but so far, Physical sword DPS is not very popular. Some units that are viable for this role include Jean, Kaeya, and Keqing.

For Ayaka, obviously, people won't want her as a Physical DPS. Nevertheless, the large base ATK provided by Aquila Favonia successfully proves the sword's worth as a stat stick. Even if the Kamisato Princess won't be able to use the weapon's sub-stat, Aquila still triumphs over some basic 4-star swords.

9 Freedom-Sworn

ayaka holding freedom-sworn in genshin impact

Freedom-Sworn's passive and sub-stat may not be the most optimal for Ayaka, but as a 5-star weapon, this weapon is still a great option for the Kamisato Princess. Considering how easy it is for her Elemental Burst to trigger a reaction, players are pretty much guaranteed to trigger Freedom-Sworn's passive every time Ayaka casts her ultimate.

The weapon will then increase attack by 20% and buff Normal, Charged, and Plunging DMG by 16%. This bonus is applied to everyone in the team, which means it will enhance the overall DPS.

8 Skyward Blade

ayaka holding skyward blade in genshin impact

Skyward Blade in Genshin Impact is a great option for both main and sub-DPS Ayaka. For sub-DPS, the weapon offers an Energy Recharge sub-stat, which allows Ayaka to cast her Elemental Burst more often.

Meanwhile, for the main DPS, Skyward Blade increases Ayaka's attack speed by 10% after she casts her ultimate. Additionally, she will also deal extra damage with her Normal and Charged attack hits. Although, like The Flute, this damage scales with Physical bonuses, so Ayaka won't be able to fully benefit from it.

7 Amenoma Kageuchi

ayaka holding amenoma kageuchi in genshin impact

Amenoma Kageuchi is the best F2P option for Kamisato Ayaka. This weapon is obtainable via forging in Genshin Impact. It has a low base attack, but the weapon makes it up with a higher attack sub-stat. However, the star of the show is its passive. After using her Elemental Skill, Ayaka will gain one stack (maximum three, lasts 30s). Then, if she uses Elemental Burst, the stacks will be consumed and each will regenerate 6 Energy for the Cryo Princess.

Assuming players can use Ayaka's ultimate every time its cooldown ended (every 20s), then they'll immediately regenerate 12 Energy afterward. At maximum refinement, this number is doubled to 24 Energy.

6 Black Sword

Of course, the best 4-star weapon for Kamisato Ayaka would be the Battle Pass weapon, Black Sword. If players can spare 10 bucks, then they should consider getting one of the available Battle Pass weapons in Genshin Impact. Thanks to their Crit Rate sub-stat, all the available weapons are highly useful for any damage-dealing units.

If players use Black Sword with Ayaka, they might want to keep a close eye on her artifacts and ensure they don't have too much Crit Rate. It's easy to have excessive Crit Rate if Travelers are equipping the Cryo Princess with 4-Blizzard Strayer and putting her in a Cryo Resonance.

5 Haran Geppaku Futsu

ayaka holding haran geppaku futsu in genshin impact

Although Ayaka plays with Charged Attack more than Normal Attack, Sword, Polearm, and Claymore units always do one hit of Normal Attack before their Charged hits. Therefore, Haran Geppaku Futsu will work just fine on Ayaka. One thing players would want to keep in mind is its Crit Rate sub-stat. It's important to not get over 100% Crit Rate in a Blizzard Strayer + permafreeze team since it'd be a waste of stat.

Although not the absolute best, Haran Geppaku Futsu generally has a high investment value, where the weapon works for many Sword users, making it a great weapon to get and upgrade.

4 Primordial Jade Cutter

ayaka holding primordial jade cutter in genshin impact

Primordial Jade Cutter is one of the best swords in Genshin Impact, where it's equipped with a massive Crit Rate sub-stat and a passive that can be used by any unit. However, as the weapon has an insane 44.1% Crit Rate, this may be way too much for Ayaka. Therefore, if players opt for this weapon, they shouldn't use 4-Blizzard Strayer. Instead, they can use other options like 2-Blizzard Strayer + 2-Gladiator's Finale.

With Kamisato Ayaka having one of the highest base HP (top 15), Primordial Jade Cutter will also decently buff Ayaka's attack.

3 Light of Foliar Incision

ayaka holding light of foliar incision in genshin impact

Light of Foliar Incision may have a low base ATK, but similar to Jade Cutter, it's equipped with a massive Crit DMG. Its passive is not as useful as Jade Cutter since it requires Elemental Mastery to fully utilize, so this Sword can mainly be considered if Ayaka is playing in a reverse-Melt team.

Nevertheless, Light of Foliar Incision has better points than Primordial Jade Cutter. For instance, players can't use PJC in a freeze team since Ayaka would have too much Crit Rate, but since Light of Foliar Incision focuses on Crit DMG, this weapon is more viable for different Ayaka team comps.

2 Summit Shaper

ayaka holding summit shaper in genshin impact

Summit Shaper is a rather niche option where players will need to pair Ayaka with a dedicated Genshin Impact shielder that can maintain 100% shield uptime. By far, characters that can do this are Zhongli and Thoma. Diona can also do this easily if she's wielding the Sacrificial Bow (other than that, the bartender is a great pair with Ayaka to trigger Cryo Resonance).

Apart from the whopping 49.6% attack off its sub-stat, players can get 40% more from its passive. Considering how high Ayaka's base stat is, this will eventually stack up to be a large number.

1 Mistsplitter Reforged

ayaka holding mistsplitter reforged in genshin impact

Topping the list is clearly Ayaka's signature weapon, the Mistsplitter Reforged. Other than it having the highest base attack among other swords, the weapon further enhances Ayaka's Crit DMG by 44.1% and the Elemental DMG bonus by 12%. Afterward, the Kamisato Princess can gain an 8/16/28% Cryo DMG bonus by maintaining the weapon's stack. Players can gain a stack by dealing Elemental Normal Attack DMG (lasts 5s), casting Elemental Burst (lasts 10s), and having less than 100% Energy.

Mistsplitter Reforged is currently only available via the weapon banner, so players have to wait until then to get their hands on one.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
