Genshin Impact has a fairly simple combat system which is based on combining different characters and their elements in order to increase their damage potential. So far there are only eight different types of elemental reactions that can be triggered with the available elements.

However, recent leaks have been hinting that the addition of a brand-new element is just around the corner, meaning that the game will most likely introduce more types of elemental reactions. A popular Genshin Impact leaker has revealed more information about one of the upcoming elemental reactions.

One of the game's most popular leakers, Genshin Intel, has revealed additional details about Intensified, which is a new elemental reaction that should arrive in the foreseeable future. According to his tweet, Intensified will be triggered if Dendro is applied on Electro and vice versa. When one of these elements triggers the reaction, the other one will gain a significant Base Damage buff against the target for 7 seconds. This means that players will need to apply Dendro on Electro if they want their Razor, Raiden Shogun, or any other strong Electro character to deal increased damage.

One of the most interesting parts of this elemental reaction is the fact that it scales with Elemental Mastery, a character stat that has been neglected for a long time. Fans seem very excited about the new reaction since it has great damage potential that can be compared to Vaporized which is probably the strongest reaction in the game right now, and it can be triggered by applying Hydro on Pyro.

Intensified is not the only new addition to the combat system as previous leaks revealed another elemental reaction named Overgrown which can be triggered by combining Hydro with Electro. This reaction causes seeds to drop on the floor and turn into mushrooms. Adding more Hydro will cause them to explode and deal AoE Dendro damage.

HoYoverse has yet to confirm the arrival of a new element but multiple Genshin Impact leaks have already revealed that Dendro will arrive alongside a new major region named Sumeru in Version 3.0. Assuming that the rumors about Version 2.8 being the last Inazuma arc update are true, players can expect Sumeru to arrive around mid-August. However, there is a chance for the release date to get pushed back considering that Genshin Impact Version 2.7 was delayed for three weeks. All the leaks about Intensified and Overgrown hint that Dendro will most likely be an element with strong supportive capabilities.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
