Genshin Impact is full of various quests and challenges that players can complete in order to get an adventure experience. Some of the main challenges that players can face are the various Abyssal Domains located throughout the world that serve as dungeons. One of the Abyssal Domains that players can find in Genshin Impact is the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula. It is located on top of Wuwang Hill in the nation of Liyue and rewards players with valuable artifacts upon its completion.

Recently with new playstyles being added, like Arataki Itto's berserker-type combat, Gorou's mobile support zones for Geo characters, and a general increase in energy recharge abilities, the island kingdom has really diversified the way combat is done in Genshin Impact.
Nonetheless, in addition to character increases, an increase in the number of domains in Inazuma has also changed the potential of the artifact system, with domains like Slumbering Court offering new artifacts as of version 2.3. However, the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula remains one of the most popular domains in Genshin Impact, and so, this article will be updated to add more information on the domain.
The Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula In Genshin Impact
The Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula isn't a pushover to complete. In order to challenge it, players need to have an adventure rank of at least 30. Additionally, the recommended party level for this Abyssal Domain is 59 with an additional recommendation for a party member that uses the cryo element.
The Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula is a domain filled to the teeth with a variety of Electro, Hydro, and Pyro opponents. That said, players should be aware that Electro is the most dominant element in all levels aside from Level II and IV which uses Pyro opponents. As such, players are advised to include a mix of either Pyro, Anemo, or Cryo. On the other hand, avoiding the usage of Electro users in Levels I and III (as well as Pyro users in Level II and IV) may be beneficial to some players.
Should players complete the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula domain, they have the chance of receiving pieces for the Crimson Witch of Flames and Lavawalker artifact sets at either the 4- or 5-star level. The Crimson Witch of Flames increases Pyro damage output, while the Lavawalker set increases Pyro resistance. This makes the sets perfect for Genshin Impact players looking to build one of the game's strong Pyro users.
Solving the Abyssal Domain's Entrance Puzzle
The first thing that players will need to do is to travel to the Abyssal Domain's location on top of Wuwang Hill in Liyue. The domain will initially be sealed with players not having any access to the inside. Located in a wetland area, Genshin Impact players should be aware of the Electro Cicin that spawn near the domain's entrance; players that aren't prepared for combat may find themselves needing the heal before entering the domain.
In order to unlock the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula, players will need one Pyro and one Geo party member to complete this puzzle. In this scenario, Amber and her fire arrows will be very useful.
Located all around Wuwang Hill are multiple torches that need to be lit with a pyro skill of any kind. This can be accomplished by Amber or any pyro element party member received through the gacha system. Including the ones by the sealed geo shrine, there are four torches in total. There are also spirits that will help players to find the next unlit torch.
The Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula's Four Torches
- The first torch is located right next to the sealed shrine.
- The second torch is located inside a nearby barrier next to a rock jutting out of the ground. In order to get inside the stream to light the torch, players must climb up the rock, then jump off to glide past the barrier. Players can then light the torch, which will make the barrier disappear.
- Torch number three is up the cliffs south of the sealed shrine inside an encampment of enemies. After dealing with them and opening the chest they are guarding, players can safely light the torch.
- The final torch can be found by following the blue spirit after lighting the encampment torch. It can be shot with one of Genshin Impact's Amber's arrows across a long distance or can be lit up close by a Pyro melee character.
After all of the torches are lit, the last step is to use a Geo skill from a Genshin Impact Geo character on the now unsealed shrine, which will open the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula.
