Genshin Impact is filled with various kinds of enemies. These come in several categories, such as Common Enemies, Elite Enemies, World Boss, and Weekly Boss. Genshin Impact constantly releases new enemies and bosses along with the new version.

Some of these bosses are easy to beat. Others, not so much. Some can bring horror even to late-game players, due to how hard they hit and how much they move. To help guide players in their adventure, here are some examples of the hardest bosses in Genshin Impact that they should be sure to prepare for.

Updated on October 10, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: Many expansions of Sumeru are released before Fontaine finally comes in 4.0, and throughout the new areas, at least one new boss is added, which means more difficult bosses now exist in the land of Teyvat. Not only Normal Enemies like the underwater creatures, but World Boss and Weekly Boss are now more abundant as well. Therefore, this list is updated to include some of the hardest additions, like the Scaramouche Weekly Boss, the elusive ASIMON, and the not-so-robotic Icewind Suite.

18 Geo Hypostasis

There are seven Hypostasis in Genshin Impact, which means one of every element is available. However, originally, there were three Hypostasis: Anemo, Geo, and Electro. Geo Hypostasis is the most annoying element of the original three since it protects itself with a Basalt Pillar.

To deal damage, players will have to destroy these pillars. This will bring the Hypostasis down from high ground, making it vulnerable to attacks. Players can also use ranged characters to try and gain the upper hand. Catalyst users can work, but they mostly will aim at the pillars. Instead, use a bow character that focuses on charged attack for damage, like Ganyu.

17 Cryo Regisvine

This large version of Whopperflower is a hassle in the early game. Unlike its Pyro counterpart, Cryo Regisvine is more aggressive with its attacks. If players take too long in killing the boss, the creature will spread Cryo all over the arena, causing damage and debuffs for the players.

To deal with it effectively, players will have to break its Cryo core first. To do so, players should use Pyro, since it's the most effective element to break Cryo shields. After the Cryo Regisvine falls, players can finally deal proper damage to kill the boss quickly.

16 Pyro Hypostasis

Pyro Hypostasis is the fourth Hypostasis boss in Genshin Impact. This boss is released in Genshin Impact 2.0, but there's a minor change in version 2.1. Previously, the window to extinguish Fire Seeds was very short, but it's later extended.

To defeat the Pyro Hypostasis, players have to first break its Pyro shield. Hydro Catalyst users like Mona and Barbara can do this job perfectly. After that, it's the same drill as the other Hypostasis: Attack when the core is revealed. However, there's one important thing to note about this enemy. Unlike other Hypostasis that has a "pre-death" phase, Pyro Hypostasis has a phase to regain the Pyro shield. In this phase, players have to quickly extinguish the Fire Seeds with one Hydro attack.

15 Perpetual Mechanical Array

Perpetual Mechanical Array is an automaton boss that resides in Inazuma. The battle against this boss is actually simple, but if players don't understand how to beat the Perpetual Mechanical Array in Genshin Impact, then the task can become grueling.

To beat the PMA, players have to keep attacking the boss. Eventually, at around 30% HP, the enemy will enter a defensive state, where the automaton splits into smaller robots, and players have to defeat the marked enemy. Once the marked robot is defeated, the Perpetual Mechanical Array will enter a weakened state and players can unleash their best hits to quickly finish the boss.

14 Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network

Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network, usually abbreviated as ASIMON, is a boss in the desert of Genshin Impact Sumeru. Fighting this boss is quite easy until it enters its invisibility state. Since the boss is invisible, and not invincible, there are three ways people can remove the invisibility:

1. Hit the main body with Quicken
2. Destroy the components that appear with Electro
3. Wait until it returns visible

This boss is mostly easy, but it gets annoying in content like Spiral Abyss as it forces people to have at least one Electro character if they wish to complete the challenge quickly.

13 Iniquitous Baptist

Iniquitous Baptist in Genshin Impact is an Abyss Lector-like enemy, but unlike the Abyss Lector and Abyss Herald, Iniquitous Baptist can manipulate multiple elements. When fighting this boss, players must bring a counter to three out of four possible elements the boss will bear (this can be seen from the color that floats around the arena before the battle starts). Due to the various attributes the boss has, it can be tough for people who don't have characters of various Visions.

Fortunately, people can always bring elements that work against multiple attributes. For instance, Dendro can counter both Electro and Hydro swiftly, while Pyro helps against Cryo and Electro.

12 Thunder Manifestation

Released in version 2.1, players have to go through a long quest to unlock Thunder Manifestation in Genshin Impact. Although sharing a resemblance with Qingce's Oceanid, Thunder Manifestation is by no means a similar creature. It is said that the one on Amakumo Peak was created by Kanna Kapatcir's resentment.

There's no special method to defeat this Electro creature, but its attacks are one of the hardest ones to avoid. This enemy would also teleport constantly, making it hard to land precious hits on it. To beat Thunder Manifestation in Genshin Impact, it's highly recommended to use units that have long-ranged attacks. Additionally, Electro characters are also useless against it as Thunder Manifestation is immune to Electro.

11 Maguu Kenki

Maguu Kenki is a humanoid swordsman. It's a machine that malfunctioned and lost control. Previously, this boss was available in the Golden Apple Archipelago in Genshin Impact 1.6. However, after the island is no longer available, Maguu Kenki is now available in Inazuma.

To defeat Maguu Kenki, players have to be aware of all his moves. Before he lunges his attacks, he will enter a stance. Maguu Kenki also summons a phantom over time, so players need to keep their eyes on the real Maguu Kenki. Moreover, this boss also has a lot of i-frame where he'll be invulnerable to any attack​​​​​​.

10 Dvalin

The "Stormterror" Dvalin is the first weekly boss players will encounter. A lot of players struggle with this fight for two reasons. They don't know how to break his shield, and they don't know how to attack the "Bloodclot", the purple item that's corrupting Dvalin.

To remove Dvalin's shield, players can either shoot him in the air with a bow character or wait until he does a "bite" and "breath" move. He briefly lands when he bites and also lands for a few seconds when he breathes. Players can attack Dvalin's claw during this time to break his shield. Afterward, players can climb Dvalin's neck after he falls, and attack the Bloodclot using melee attacks.

9 Primo Geovishap

Primo Geovishap is a new World Boss introduced in Genshin Impact 1.3. This creature is the mature version of Geovishaps. It is larger and more powerful, though it has one major weakness.

To easily defeat the Primo Geovishap, players must bring a shielder to their team. When the boss performs the move "Primordial Shower", a prompt will appear to tell players to put up their shield. If the shield is strong enough to withstand the attack, the boss takes damage instead of the players. Furthermore, if the shield element matches the creature's element (or if it's Geo), the damage Primo Geovishap takes will be even higher.

8 Childe

Childe was the only weekly boss that's also a playable character. Tartaglia's "Childe" has three phases in his boss fights, so it's important to recognize them all.

The first phase is his normal fighting stance: Hydro Vision. In this phase, Childe is not very dangerous and can easily be beaten. After defeating him here, he will enter his second phase: Electro Delusion. In this phase, Childe will obtain the power of Electro and will more actively attack while moving, so players should learn to avoid his attacks. The simple way to do this is by running (not sprinting) in a circle.

In the last phase, Childe will enter the "Foul Legacy" state. Here, he will wield three different weapons and two different elements. Childe will also continuously move, so players will need to properly time their ultimate and not waste it when the boss is moving.

7 Azhdaha

Azhdaha is an even larger version of Primo Geovishap. This weekly boss has a long history with Zhongli, where the Geo Archon has to seal him after erosion corrupts the dragon.

Just like the typical Geovishap, a fight with Azhdaha can be trivialized by having a shielder in the team. Without it, players will have a hard time against this hard-hitting boss. However, defeating Azhdaha without gaining a shield does grant a shiny achievement and some Primogems.

In every fight, Azhdaha will adopt two elements between Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo. This boss has 70% Geo Resistance, 40% Physical Resistance, and 10% Resistance to other elements. So players might want to refrain from using Geo and Physical attacks against Azhdaha.

6 Andrius

This weekly boss is certainly one of the hardest. Andrius moves continuously and deals high damage in a massive AOE. Additionally, this boss is immune to both Cryo and Anemo damage. To beat Andrius, players need to learn to dodge his attacks. He has a small animation before each strike, giving players enough time to react.

After bringing him to 50% HP, Andrius will enter the second stage of the fight. Here, he will remain in one spot, making it easier to attack him. However, his attacks also become more violent. Avoid using Barbara in this stage, since her "wet" system will easily Freeze the players. On the other hand, catalyst users like Lisa and Ningguang have a large range, so they can hit the wolf outside his hitbox. Lastly, having a shield character will allow players to safely use melee attacks against this Dominator of Wolves.

5 La Signora

Signora is a weekly boss available in Genshin Impact 2.1. This boss fight reveals a lot of things about the mysterious Harbinger and serves as the first major death in Genshin Impact. Just like the fight with Childe, Signora also has a Vision and Delusion phase.

At first, Signora will wield the Cryo Delusion, creating Sheer Cold all over the domain. Players have to keep an eye on this to ensure their character won't die from cold. After Signora's HP is really low, she will shield herself in an Ice Cocoon. Players have to use elemental reactions like Melt to destroy it or pick up the Crimson Lotus Moths to deal Pyro damage on the Cocoon.

After destroying the Cocoon, La Signora will wield the Pyro element. Now, instead of Sheer Cold, Blazing Heat will accumulate in the field. It's the same system as Sheer Cold, but it's hot instead of cold. In the domain, players can find stones in the corner. If players stand next to these stones, it will slowly lower the Sheer Cold or Blazing Heat effect. Players can also destroy the stones to instantly get rid of the temperature debuff.

4 Oceanid

Oceanid has brought so much hassle into players' lives that a lot of people choose to lower their World Level to beat her easily. Rhodeia, the Oceanid of Qingce, does not fight players directly. Instead, she summons Hydro Mimics that players must defeat.

Since her minions are all Hydro, players can utilize Cryo attacks for perma-freeze. Additionally, Pyro can deal massive damage with Vaporize, and Electro is the MVP here with its Electro-charged. However, the most important thing to remember in Oceanid fights is to bring a character that can kill the Hawk Mimics. These flying creatures can't be reached by melee attacks, so players should bring bow users or long-range catalyst characters.

3 Icewind Suite

Icewind Suite may seem simple, but it's not as easy to beat as people may think. In the Spiral Abyss, it's crucial to know which boss is which as there are two versions of it. The first, Dirge Of Coppelia, is a lady Meka that doesn't summon a shield during her peak performance and can instead be paralyzed using two Pneuma attacks. Meanwhile, Nemesis Of Coppelius is the noble gentleman that will summon a Cryo shield during his peak performance, which can be removed using elemental reactions or two Ousia hits.

Therefore, to beat Icewind Suite in Genshin Impact, people can either bring a shielder or Pneuma against Dirge of Coppelia, or use Pyro or Ousia to counter Nemesis of Coppelius.

2 Scaramouche

After stealing the Electro Gnosis and attempting to be reborn as a god, players must defeat Scaramouche at the Joururi Workshop. There are two phases in Scaramouche's weekly battle; the close-up and the full-body stage. In the first section, people can either hit mindlessly or attempt to paralyze the boss by picking up Energy Blocks to charge the Neo Akasha Terminal. Once the Terminal is fully charged, stand on Electro Matrix on the ground to paralyze the boss. Do this twice to incapacitate Scaramouche temporarily.

Then, in the second stage, people must pick up Energy Blocks to unlock a special attack from the Neo Akasha Terminal. Aim the gadget's attack at the boss to reduce Scaramouche's shield, and once his shield is gone, he will summon Nirvana Engines. The Engines can be destroyed with elements that react with Electro (Dendro, Pyro, or Cryo are the best options), and once all of them are gone, Scaramouche will be incapacitated and people can attack it directly to finish the battle.

1 Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto (Raiden Shogun)

The Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto is a Genshin Impact weekly boss fight against Raiden Shogun. Not the Electro Archon one, but rather the puppet that was meant to serve her. As Ei slowly starts to give up on the idea of eternity, the Shogun puppet defies its master and persists in defending eternity on Inazuma. To convince the puppet to obey Ei again, the Electro Archon has to fight it for many years.

As a vessel for an Archon, the Raiden Shogun put up a hard fight. If players fail to defeat the boss before it enters the Baleful Shadowlord form​​​​​​, people will have to trigger elemental reactions to destroy its Electro shield. Pyro, Dendro, and Cryo attacks are the most effective for this job. The Raiden Shogun also has several unique mechanics. For example, the boss has two weapons, the Musou Isshin and Engulfing Lightning. The weapon she uses will change her moveset in the battle, and she will switch weapons occasionally, making it important to pay attention to which weapon Raiden Shogun is wielding.

Furthermore, the weekly boss also has a special move that will result in a guaranteed death if not nullified. For this, players have to destroy an Electro Orb by using elemental attacks. Using Electro hits is the fastest way to activate the Orb. Unlike most bosses, the Raiden Shogun is not immune or resistant to Electro, so it's safe to bring the element to the domain.
