To enter The Chasm Underground Mines in Genshin Impact, players can use one of two available methods, both of which require them to glide to the middle of The Chasm's Maw. The large opening will lead Travelers to the Underground Chasm, opening up the road for more adventures in Teyvat. After this, players can easily navigate to the area by switching the Teyvat map. The Underground Chasm has been a mining site for a very long time. However, prior to the protagonist's awakening, most activities are halted due to some strange occurrences in the area.

Updated on January 29, 2023, by Elara Leclair: While the Chasm content has been available for some time, no updates have been made and there likely won't be any, barring any future events. However, Chasm still plays an important role in the story progression, especially with the addition of the Sumeru region to Genshin Impact. Entering Sumeru can be done in a variety of ways, some of which are quite convoluted.

The most straightforward route is through the Chasm, so it's highly recommended that players follow the main story and enter the Chasm Underground Mines to progress the Archon Quest in Sumeru. Unlocking the Chasm Underground Mines is also recommended for those players who are not as far ahead in the story, as it allows them to enter Sumeru through an easier route and collect ascension and talent materials in this region.

To enter The Chasm’s Underground Mines in Genshin Impact, players can use one of two methods:

  1. Activate The Chasm’s Underground Mines’ elevator.
  2. Enter The Chasm’s Maw.

The first method is to reach an elevator above The Chasm's Maw. Once there, there will be a button to activate the mechanism. Using this button will start a loading screen and soon players will be transported to the Chasm Underground Mines.

As for the second method, Travelers simply have to drop down the large hole in the middle of the Chasm. Unlike the entrance to Enkanomiya in Genshin Impact, players don't have to worry about dying due to fall damage. This is because once the loading screen is complete, the character will be transported, allowing them to enter the Chasm Underground Mines.

The first time players enter the underground mines, a small cutscene will start, showcasing the Traveler walking through the bridges. Afterward, they will meet Jinwu and Zhiqiong. Jinwu will reveal that a bunch of miners became lost in the Underground Chasm a while ago. To help with this matter, players have to look for clues on Uncle He's whereabouts. Unfortunately, Uncle He is nowhere to be found. If Travelers wish to find him, they need to trigger the Genshin Impact Missing Miner Quest.

If neither of these entry methods works, it's likely because the player hasn't finished the required Quest. To gain access to The Chasm’s Underground Mines, Travelers first have to destroy the Bedrock Keys in Genshin Impact's Chasm area.

While at it, it is also highly recommended to unlock the Lost Valley Domain in Fuao Vale. This Artifacts Domain grants the best items for Kamisato Ayato and Xiao. Furthermore, the 2-piece set can be equipped on almost every Genshin Impact character.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
