A Genshin Impact fan managed to find out Celestia's exact location on the map by using simple geometry and logic. The world of Teyvat is filled with mysterious locations such as the floating island that can be seen from almost any point on the map.

While there is still a lot of hype around the new Sumeru region, players are still eager to find out more information about this iconic place. Even though developer HoYoverse is yet to confirm Celestia's location, a Reddit user named nickelflowers has apparently solved this mystery in an interesting post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit.

This experiment is actually pretty easy, and it can be done by any Genshin Impact player. However, in order to make it more accurate, players should unlock the new Sumeru region, so they can access more viewpoints. All they have to do is visit various parts of the map and face the floating island with their characters. After that, they need to open the map and draw a line in the direction their character cursor is facing. In this example, nickelflowers chose four different locations in Teyvat: Stormterror's Liar, Qingyun Peak, Sumeru City, and the Mausoleum of King Deshret. The thread proved that Celestia is located somewhere west of the Liyue region and north of Sumeru which means that it is not as far away as many players thought.

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that the Celestia model seems a bit different in the new update. This is probably due to the fact that HoYoverse actually replaced its 2D transparent image with a 3D model to make it look more realistic. The previous version of Celestia looked slightly disturbing when looked at from specific locations such as the Stormterror's Liar.

The main reason behind this change is probably the fact that observing Celestia from the brand-new deserts in Sumeru deserts would make the 2D image look even more inaccurate. When it comes to its importance to the main storyline, Celestia is rumored to be one of the end-game regions in the world of Teyvat.

Genshin Impact's official story has been hinting that Celestia might be the residence of Teyvat's gods and mortals who ascended to godhood. A majority of the fan base doesn't expect this region to become explorable in a couple of years, despite the recent changes to its model. A number of fans in the comment section claim that the actual floating island will probably look much more different from the one shown in the game.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version in development.
