Ahead of her full release tomorrow, Genshin Impact released a character demo trailer highlighting Ganyu's abilities and Cryo-based moves.

Ganyu is an upcoming five-star character who, like Diona, uses a Cryo Vision and wields a bow as a weapon of choice. She's quite possibly been the most hyped Genshin Impact character so far. Ganyu's banner, Adrift in the Harbor, will go live very soon on January 12 at 6:00 PM server time and will feature the four-stars Xingqiu, Noelle, and Xiangling with increased pull rates. At the same time, Ganyu's story quest, Sinae Unicornis Chapter, will become available to players who have reached Adventure Rank 40 or above.

Ganyu is an emissary and secretary of the Liyue Qixing and is known for pulling hefty workloads for the merchant group. Likewise, the content MiHoYo has released for Genshin Impact that highlights her has focused on her working overtime, but in the newly released character demo, it looks like she's constantly sleepy due to overworking herself. Still, she maintains a beautiful gracefulness, even in the heat of battle, as shown in the trailer below.

Much like in Ganyu's character teaser trailer, the video opens up to the Cryo wielder speaking in poetic prose, this time, about the sweet flower petals that she loves to snack on and their high sugar content before she breaks into battle with some Hilichurls, showing off her abilities. Ganyu's normal attack is a regular arrow shot but can be charged twice to release two different levels of Cryo DMG.

Ganyu's moves and abilities are as gentle and graceful as she is. Her Elemental Skill is Trail of the Qilin, a mythical horned creature from Chinese lore. Ganyu is part qilin, making her the only half-human, half-adeptus character on Genshin Impact's roster. Trail of the Qilin releases an ice lotus as Ganyu dashes backward and deals AoE Cryo DMG. Her ultimate, Celestial Shower, summons a giant Cryo Pearl that rains down shards of ice in its AoE to deal Cryo DMG.

But the trailer stops in its tracks when Ganyu is awoken by another Cryo wielder, Qiqi, informing her that she fell asleep near monsters and is dreaming. And in the final moments, Ganyu can be seen dozing off standing up, possibly alluding to an idle animation of Ganyu's.

Ganyu is voiced by Reina Ueda in Japanese and Jennifer Losi for the English translation. Both voice actresses likely sound familiar to avid anime watchers; Ueda currently voices Kisa Soma in Fruits Basket and has appeared in Sailor Moon Eternal, while Losi has voiced characters for Sword Art Online and JoJo's Bizarre Adventures.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
