The Frostbearing Tree is an important part of Genshin Impact's new 1.2 update, bringing players a ton of great rewards if they are willing to put in the effort needed to get them. Unfortunately, the game itself doesn't do a great job of explaining how it all works or even how to unlock it, so players will need to look elsewhere for that guidance. On the bright side, miHoYo already previewed all the Frostbearing Tree rewards ahead of time.

More likely than not, players will already be familiar with how the Frostbearing Tree works in Genshin Impact's Dragonspine region, as it is very similar to the Statues of the Seven that are already in the game. Players must collect Crimson Agates, a type of resource similar to Anemoculus and Geoculus, and offer it to the tree.

In offering these resources to the Frostbearing Tree, players will receive a ton of great rewards that will help players further explore Dragonspine and even make extra wishes for characters. Before any of this, though, players first have to go through the trouble of unlocking the Frostbearing Tree.

The quest to unlock the Frostbearing Tree starts at the Dragonspine Adventurer Camp, where players should speak to Iris in order to begin the quest "In the Mountain." From here, players are tasked with investigating the strange ice in the mountains, an objective that has caused many headaches for players. After reaching the quest area, players need to seek out and destroy Scarlet Quartz, red rocks that look just like Cor Lapis, in and then return to the strange ice and attack it. Doing this four times will unveil the Frostbearing Tree.

Now that players have access to the Frostbearing Tree, they'll need to hunt down all the Crimson Agates. For starters, there's one right behind the tree, but the rest will all be spread out throughout Dragonspine just like the Oculi. All total, there are at least 76 Crimson Agate to be found, but after the tree reaches rank 8, daily quests called Crimson Wishes will be unlocked that allow for more to be earned. The rewards for leveling up the tree are listed in the image above, but there are some notable inclusions.

Aside from a lot of Mora and Mystic Enhancement Ore, players can also get three Acquaint Fates, an Intertwined Fate, a blueprint for the Warming Bottle, and a new catalyst weapon called the Frostbearer. There's also the new Crown of Insight item, a prototype spear, and of course a new pair of wings for reaching the maximum level.
