With the launch of Act 4 of Genshin Impact's Midsummer Island Adventure event, players can obtain several new rewards through the "Mini Harpastum" event shop. While most of the items in the event shop will be immediately identifiable to Genshin Impact players, there are several -such as the Fragments of Innocence- that they may be unfamiliar with.
In nearly all of the Midsummer Island Adventure event story quests, Klee has proven to be a central character. As a result, it should come as no surprise that players can obtain a 4-star weapon reward from the event that specifically caters to Klee.
The Dodoco Tales is a 4-star catalyst weapon with a bonus effect of attack percentage and skill that causes normal attacks to increase charged attack damage by 16% for 6 seconds. The weapon can be purchased for 800-Mini Harpastum in the event shop earned through the Bombs Loaded challenge.
While increasing a weapon's level will raise the bonus effect stat, players may not realize that the effectiveness of the weapon's skill can also be increased. This is accomplished through the weapon refinement system.
Unlike weapon levels - which are increased through enhancement ore - weapon refinement is typically increased by infusing a weapon with any duplicate of the same weapon that players may have in their inventory. Each weapon has a maximum of 5 refinement ranks obtained by duplicates which greatly increase the weapon skills effectiveness.
With limited event weapons - like the Dodoco Tales catalyst - developer miHoYo will typically make the refinement materials for the weapon available so that players can achieve the weapon's maximum rank before the event expires. For the Dodoco Tales catalyst, this refinement material is the "Fragments of Innocence," which can be purchased through the event shop.
Once players have purchased both the Dodoco Tales and Fragments of Innocence, they can refine the weapon through the enhancement menu. From the menu, select the refine option and then choose the "select material" prompt. From this menu, players can add each of the Fragments of Innocence to the Dodoco Tales, which will increase its rank from 1-5.
As a comparison, the Rank 1 variant of Dodoco Tales causes normal attacks to increase charged attack damage by 16% for 6 seconds, while the Rank 5 variant causes normal attacks to increase charged attack damage by 32% for 6 seconds. For players who were lucky enough to receive Klee in the current banner, this weapon is an excellent F2P pairing for the character without any further investment of primogems.
