In the recently added Moonlight Merriment event, Genshin Impact players are able to participate in a series of cooking-inspired quests and challenges throughout the region of Liyue. Throughout the event, Genshin Impact players will be able to earn Primogems, character and weapon ascension materials, and even an event-exclusive claymore through a variety of unlockable challenges.
After completing the event's lengthy introductory quest " One For The Foodies, Two For The Show," players will unlock the first quest in the Cusine Machine Test Run category. In this quest titled "Contraption-Contrived Cooking Course: Part 1", players are tasked with aiding the Cloud Retainer in obtaining a missing ingredient for the Supreme Cuisine Machine.
Travel to the Mt. Aozang waypoint, and glide south towards the quest marker. At this location, players will find the Cloud Retainer next to a large cooking device.
How to Follow The Aura Trail
After a brief conversation with the Cloud Retainer, players will be tasked with obtaining the missing Bamboo Shoots required for the recipe. To find the ingredient, players must follow the aura trail emanating from the Supreme Cuisine Machine.
While the aura may not be immediately noticeable, players should eventually see the white gusts coming from the center pot of the cooking device. To follow the trail, start by jumping off the cliff facing west, and glide into the vertical wind tunnel.
From the wind tunnel, follow the aura path northwest around the large rock formation.
On the opposite side of the rock formation, players will find the aura path leads to a small plateau containing a group of Anemo slimes.
After landing on the plateau, players must quickly dispatch the Anemo Slimes to obtain the Bamboo shoots. Unfortunately, once the players land on the plateau, the Anemo slimes will attempt to quickly fly away. To obtain the Bamboo Shoots, players will have to use any ranged character to quickly shoot the Anemo slimes out of the sky.
Once players have successfully shot the Anemo slimes, they will automatically obtain the Bamboo shoots and can now return to the Cloud Retainer to submit the ingredient.
Help Cloud Retainer Complete The Dish
After submitting the ingredient to the Cloud Retainer, players must now cook the dish using the Supreme Cuisine Machine. When players start the minigame, they will notice three pots in front of them with a meter above each of the pots.
The player's objective during the minigame is to maintain a consistent cooking temperature by keeping the white marker inside of the yellow area on the meter for each of the pots. As the dishes naturally cool, the white meter will gradually shift to the left.
To prevent the dish from cooling, players must position the flame underneath the pot to warm up the dish. Players should make sure to avoid leaving the flame underneath a pot for too long as it will cause the dish to overcook.
Maintain the temperature on each of the pots until the timer expires. Once the timer has expired, players will complete the quest and receive a recipe for Oncidium Tofu, in addition to 30 Primogems and 2 Heroes Wit.
